I just got the e-mail letter from Brian Dunn regarding the new benefits for Reward Zone Silver members. The free expedited shipping is pretty sweet, but the rest is fairly uninspiring.
How about enhancing the price match policy to include (qualified) online competitors like Amazon, Newegg, Staples, Office Depot, Apple, Dell, CDW, Walmart, Buy.com, and TigerDirect?
I know I'd spend many times more than I do now at Best Buy if you were willing to match even some of those.
i agree with the price match, because the letter was a waste of his time.
I agree on the price matching but since I know profits would be squeezed if done across the board which is why I posted that certain deals should be done on a case by case basis based purely off demand. The way demand could easily be gauged is here:
The DOTD's based directly off customer demand will allow BB to modify prices on the fly, the fact that we earn RZ points on top of the sale price gives BB the edge(only can be defeated by tax).
since you speak of profits, then BB doesn't need their name on Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, or a new one if that is their plan
Maybe there's a middle ground that BB should strive for still would be on a case by case basis though. For big ticket items only, if the cost isn't large do it no need in losing a $2000 sale over $50 or $100 BB should be able to make that up on high profit add on that the reps are pushing. But for much bigger gaps the customer would need to get a warranty in order to received the YMMV pm exception.
Just came across this
