Build a "wallet" for my technology

It would be really usefull (and an excellent add-on-sales tool, I think) if there were a "wallet" for me to log in every model number of electronics product I have; even if you don't sell it. You would know that I own a Nikon D800 and could tell me every time a new lens, accessory, or bundle goes on sale (or you could email me that the new D850 is coming). I wouldn't have to waste time logging on and searching for my camera, seeing nothing is on sale, then having to go on to the next piece, and so on and so on. I could see an entire currated shopping list of accessories that will definitely fit my products and even all the new upgrades available. Every comparable piece you have on sale could be in a correlated tab. I don't know, maybe that just seems valuable and efficient to me. I'm sure you have thought of this and have a reason it wouldn't benefit you.

Thats not a bad idea.  Essentially something like  a wish list of things your interested in. You could then get sent an email or a text altert.

Especially handy during some of the flash sales.

This sounds like a good idea to me, and I'm not sure what would keep us from doing this. Who else would like to see this implemented? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

However, I think it would be more useful to include a wish list aspect.  Truth be told really if you just made it on the technology someone currenly owns it would really limit how useful it could be. In the case of a DSLR it would be more fruitful becuase there are a lot of accessories.

But for something like a TV, most people will probably fully outfit it right away.

But it if I was looking for a new TV I could make a wish list for the TV's I am interested in or simply some specs, like size etc..

I think what would keep them from executing the idea is the time it would take to compile all this depending on what kind of level of detail we're talking about. I agree that it's a great idea, but if you think of all the devices Best Buy sells this can become a real task to put together:

Examples:  [TVs]: cables, media streaming devices, game consoles, dongles & adapters;  [Computers], RAM, SSDs, Graphic Cards, mirroring devices, networking devices, cases, mice, drawing tablets, printers, softwares; from a conceptual level, TVs and computers (plus supporting components and accessories) make up half a Best Buy store.  Outside of purchase history, to really captialize, you'd want to really figure out what a customer already owns and sift thru all the available options and really hone in on what may really benefit the customer which the question becomes how do you do that?
