The 30 day return period is not a "trade in" period. It is the time alotted for returns. Purchasing a phone with the intention of trading it is a bit of an abuse of the policy. You can return your X2 to any Best buy for a full refund, as long as it is in original condition and less than 30 days. Of course you are welcome to exchange it for another phone as well.
Your real question is does Best Buy carry the Droid 3. None of the BB stores I have been in do as of yet.

Well its a "if you dont like the phone you get get another one" policy. Not an abuse. If i loved this phone i would have kept it. But i realised after using it that I NEED a keyboard. I simply asked the question before so i knew my bases were covered. I just get the feeling Bestbuy may be deliberately not carrying the phone in stores to deliberately prevent people from exchanging, as they have no problem selling the phone on their website.
Id even pay full retail for the D3 to be shipped to me if i could take it to a best buy and essentially return it then trade it so i get my money back. but i doubt that their computer system even allows that or anyone from bestbuy would try and help me do this. Also some stores do have the phone in stock somewhere and refusing to trade them. which is even stranger.

Good afternoon smileboot -

How long can i expect to wait until I'm contacted/ have a possible resolution?
As i purchased the X2 on 07/05 so my exchange time window is quickly vanishing. If I also need to have something delivered/sent out that's even less time I have.

Typical response time is 3 -5 business days. However, your posting was in a Product Discussion board, and not in Customer Service so I just assigned it yesterday. I am confident you should hear from Jesus soon. You could also call the 1-888-BESTBUY if you desire a more immediate resolution.

I apologize for not getting back to you any quicker. To my knowledge, the Droid 3 is currently available for purchase online only. The only option at the moment would be to return your device and order the Droid 3 online. I am very sorry but I can’t think of any other way to go about this.
Kind regards,

That sadly isn't an option. If I was to return the phone i would lose my upgrade price or I would lose my unlimited data plan. Either way looks like due to lieing or missinformed bestbuy staff or just plain me not researching things properly, I'm up a creek without a paddle.
Fixed i for ya. ![]()
