i was wondering how this works cause i never did this before, i want to trade in my tablet but i do not have my reciept still, i know the item is within the requirements but how does the store check  and issue the credit etc?

Great! They will be able to look up the receipt with the buyback on it. Basically you just bring it in with all the accessories and they go buy the length of time to give you a gift card for the buyback value.
