bad home installation experience

just a quick question, we bought a stove and they came to install it today but I was told that I need to buy a new part for my gas line which when I get it I can then install the stove. was this correct or was I just being an idiot by allowing them to leave without installing the item??

or should they have added the extra part themselves. our store experience was excellent

I apologize that your installation wasn't completed on the first attempt because of a missing part? Did they advise you what part did you need to complete the installation for your stove?
