Okay, so I got my Digital TV Converter Box Coupons. I figgered I might need a box if my Dish receiver ever goes down.
BB had the APEX box for $54.99, so I picked one up and headed for checkout. While waiting in line, I noticed the box I selected was a return (open box) and carried a price of $42.99. I decided to take my chances with it and save a bit of money. When I handed it and my coupon to the checkout person, I neglected to tell her it was discounted and she just scanned it and the coupon, announcing I owed $14.99 + tax.
I then pointed out it should be $2.99 and showed her the price on the box. First thing she did was to search for the coupon that she had tossed in the wastebasket. This took about three minutes. She then called over her supervisor and provided a quick explanation. The supervisor turned to me and said once a coupon is used, there is nothing the store can do. My choices were to accept the returned unit or she'd run over and get me another box. Either way the price was to be $14.99. I mentioned the error was not mine and she repeated what she had just said.
I opted for another box which she was nice enough to run over and get for me while I waited. This is a minor incident and I didn't get all bent out of shape over it because I had planned on paying the $14.99 in the first place and didn't even notice the markdown till I was practically at checkout, but am I an injured party? Did BB behave improperly in this case? After all, the error was not mine, but the checkout person's.
Thanks,
Gerry

Ehhh....I almost think there was something they could have done about it.
However with the new systems in act, I'm not sure.
I think considering the circumstances, you should have been able to recieve the open item.
Atleast that's what I would have done, that is if a manager would let me.
