I'm not that familiar with the 360, but I know MS sells designer faceplates, which means the mfg. considers it a user-replacable part. So no, removing it will not void your warranty.
That’s an excellent question! Like Nokia mentioned, the faceplate is typically considered to be a user-replaceable part. That means that you can freely swap it out – just like the hard drive – without worrying about voiding your service plan coverage. It’s important to remember though that you would be responsible for any damage that occurs due to improper installation!
