I went to BB in Mira Mesa, CA (store 352) to purchase a dishwasher yesterday. I picked out my choice and relayed that to the worker there, he checked the computer and advised me that they did not have it in stock, I made another choice and was told the same thing and then it happened a third time. Wow all 3 of my purchase choices were denied by their lack of stock. The employee did ask me why I did not make this purchase online and I advied him that I wanted to install it today (Sat). He did offer to order me one, but it won't be at my home for 4 days. I cannot believe that all 3 of my choices were out of stock. I spoke with the customer service manager and she did not try to keep this sale at BB, she only told me that their warehouse was small and there is no way that they can stock that much merchandise. I called 1888bestbuy and got an apology from him. I was totally surprised by their lack of desire to keep the sale at BB and try to offer alternative options on my purchase and keep the sale.

well I would say on the bright side you have really good taste in Appliances, apparently you're selections are popular

on the not so bright side, it seems that you had to have the appliance that day and maybe the lack of desire to keep the sale was that there was nothing in their power they could do. they didn't want to sell you an appliance that you didn't want, and they couldn't provide you in the timeframe you needed a appliance that you did want. it is unfortunate.

I was thinking the same thing as Bryce.  Its kind of hard to offer a  solution when it has to be same day.  they cant overnight an appliance.  

Most people ordering these or having the store do a fulfillment aren't in that kind of rush and 3 days is no big deal. Ive never seen a place where I live that can do a same day install either.

Does best buy even have a warehouse?  I mean it seems when you walk in that there cant be much of an "outback", and considering my local store sells like 60 different TVs and a whole lot of appliances they would only have a few of each so a sale would knock that out fast if you dont go on sunday morning.

Hey ddrum,

It is very unfortunate, for both you and Best Buy®, that we were not able find you a dishwasher that would meet your needs in the timeframe you desire. I do understand that sometimes a need has to be met right away, and let me assure you that if the store had an acceptable dishwasher in stock they would have sold it to you right then. Unfortunately if the store’s warehouse doesn’t have a product in stock for a customer they would have to order it from their distribution center, which can take some time.

After getting a dishwasher as a wedding gift I can’t imagine living without one anymore. You don’t mention if you have purchased a dishwasher or not, but I have to assume that you did since it seems like it was a pressing need. I would like to try and resolve this for you so I am sending you a private message.
