yah service centers aren't the best with that. sometimes they have to contact other stores too so ur store and your issue is just "waiting in line" for them to contact you. it's not geek squad's fault, just the service center. be patient, u're getting there.

 

this is like going to your State's Motor Vehicle Agence (dmv, mva, etc) and you want to get a license where you usually have to wait 2 hours just to get one litle license card.

You are right about one thing: that a repair request with Best Buy seems like a visit to the BMV,  the Title Bureau, the Social Security office, or Worker's Comp. They know you HAVE to be there and they have you under their control. The thing that Best Buy fails to see is that after an extremely bad experience with their store and/or employees, the retail customer CAN and WILL go to another store the next time. I truly feel sorry for those who do not have that option, but I know that they are out there.

Give your money to a local technician group, or ask around if your friends or relatives know someone that is good with computers, or networks , whatever your situation is.

 

Geek Squad is probably a reasonably professional business, however I have heard some pretty heart breaking experiences on forums, youtube, and word of mouth.

 

I consider myself more then savy with computers, and hardware , software etc.

 

I just feel bad for people that spend hundreds of dollars trying to get their stuff fixed at geek squad, when that local company that is going out of business might have fixed everything for dirt cheap, and a nice smile on their face...

 

However, I have also heard some really great things about geek squad, I have a friend that used to work there, and etc.

 

I just think a business like geek squad should be managed at a smaller level, not a huge machine, that leaves costumers unhappy, or spending twice, three time as much as they should, because most people arent that great with troubleshooting basic computer problems.

So here I am again. Today Best Buy called me to let me know that my computer was "ready for pick up" unfornately this was not the case. Turns out when the Geek Squad agent brought my laptop out to me it was damaged even more! Also my wifi card was not repaired again! The store had told me they had to send the laptop out again for another "re-do" or as I like to call it "a re-do of a re-do of a re-do". So here I am getting ready to return to school Monday and will not have a computer until January 25th, which make it over two months since I have last had my laptop. I am currently trying to contact Best Buy in order to request that the computer is lemoned out and I will pay the difference. I will do anything to get out of this nightmare!

I can only imagine your frustration after this experience.  We at Geek Squad® and Best Buy® endeavor to complete our customers repairs correctly, promptly, and the first time, but it’s clear that we’re not living up to those expectations.  I’m sincerely sorry for your repeated inconvenience.

I am extremely enraged at Best Buy. I was told that my laptop was to be lemoned out today because I need it for a case I have to present. This therefore has led to my mom coming down who is sick and now I am hearing that my laptop hasn't been lemoned out and that I may have to wait two more days which is unacceptable for what I have gone threw and how much I really need my computer I am facing recieving an F tomorrow because I was promised my laptop was to be completed and it is not. This entire situtation has me extremely fustrated.
