Best Buy & Geek Squad Policies

i need to transfer data from one phone to the other, it will take only a minute or two, but the charger port is broken so it can't be done at the store. a guy said i could "buy" a memory card, use it on the phone i bought from Best Buy about a month ago to put pics etc.. on it, and then return it right after and get my money back. is this the case?

can a memory card be "bought" only to be returned right away, in store, if the phone in question is bought there and it's for the data transfer??

It's not a practice Best Buy likes very much but you can use it for what you need and return it without any problems.
