Several times I've looked to buy something from BestBuy, first checking their website, confirming it is in stock, and calling the place to see it is in stock.
Arriving there to find out it is not in stock and being told that not only can they not reserve an item, but that even my calling up and seeing if they have one in stock is not accurate. It appears, that, for whatever reason, maybe it's just my local BestBuy, they only update the stock every 6-8 hours, a customer service agent was nice enough to tell me...for the third time.
So, both the website, and calling customer support while at home, are not reflective if a store has an item in stock. Peechy.
So, driving 20 minutes down there, the third time this has happened, within I'd say, a little over a year, I guess it's my fault for doing it so many times, but I just thought BestBuy might you know, reach where other stores have been at for 15-20 years, service wise?
I went there to buy a product, that had recently released, but was by no means a "hot" item, and after confirming they had it in stock, I went there. It's gone, completely drained, not a copy left, not even in the fabled back room. Despite it being weeks since it came out, and other stores having it available, I had a gift card, foolish me thinking to use it.
Now you had a rather good price for the item, 34.95$, VS Walmarts 45$, or if I went online, it was only 30$ /w free shipping, but I figured 5$ was worth having it now, not a week from now.
After I got home, I decided to see if I could purchase it online from BestBuy, free shipping! Estimated Arrival: 2 Weeks! Tazaah! Other place is 3 day free shipping, and oh yeah, 5$ cheaper. But the guy told me, on the phone, the deal would last for another week or more, and to check back Tuesday or Friday to see if they had more...so it's Monday night, figured I'd check it out on the website...
Price: 49.99$
So, not only can your customer support literally not even know if they have an item in stock, but they also aren't aware of their own deals.
So I've wasted enough time. I guess I'll use this gift card on some, remote, future purchase. Thanks for chosing a name like BestBuy and then not only do you not provide competitive prices, but sub-par service. Walmart even slashed the price down to 40$, after you upped yours to 50$.
Amazon.com it is, and you hear retailers complain about online resalers like Amazon are killing their buisness. Well of course, they offer better prices, better service, why wouldn't they?

i feel your pain. i wanted to give best buy all my photography studio business needs. after spending over 3 grand and purchasing the BTP plan, then needing camera repairs, i was told my ex wife of 12 years ago was the one who purchased my camera and could not send it in for repairs until i had her authorization... EVEN THO I had a cancelled check with my sig, a sales receipt AND the best buy person who sold me everything standing next to me... they still had the nerve to call me a liar.

And there goes any future purchases at BestBuy. Going to use my last 20$ Gift card and never shop there again.
Thanks for falling even lower.
I wait 4 days for a response and it's a "We'll try to be better in the future." line?
Thanks for literally nothing.

You're right, they should have fired everyone in that store that you came in contact with, and completely overhauled their inventory system over night, to make your experience tomorrow, as amazing as possible.

Finally someone who listens to a legitimate idea from this board. I know they are only firing them 50 stores at a time but at least someone is listening. Kudos to rellarillear!
When will these companies realize that they aren't losing money because of Amazon or the economy. They are being fired by their customers.
