Re: Stolen Ipad, Broken window, stolen money in front of the strore door and RUDE MANAGER

Thanks XL for the advice, I agree with you in almost every point. I'm a business owner and to prevent that costumer to be mad at the store I would at least offer him something that would make him feel less angry. But instead he just came on very agresive, for that reason:

  • I'm going to all the media around the island to expose the lack of competence on their behalf.
  • In my business everyone know about the story.
  • And my whole family will never buy in Best Buy againg.

I spend over 5,000 last year. If I can get at least 5 people that would spent the same amount as me to go to another retailer, that would be 25,000 less (that about the salary of the manager) and I'm happy.

He's angry and emotional and you aren't going to make him understand common sense and logic. Best Buy isn't responsible for what happens outside their doors. Sorry, but there was nothing that the manager could do for you. I doubt that the manager was acting in a "threatening" way, although since you were worked up and emotional over the break-in, I can understand how you would misinterpret his actions.

Re: Stolen Ipad, Broken window, stolen money in front of the strore door and RUDE MANAGER

Hi pedroaltieri,

I am very sorry to read of the robbery that happened outside of our store, as well as the amount of time you had to wait in the store. I know the conversation you had with the manager didn't help things, either. What I can say is that, while I know this has been very dismaying, Best Buy does not have any control over or liability to cars parked in the parking lots of our stores. Furthermore, we cannot do anything about the theft that occurred because we are not members of law enforcement.

In a situation like this, it is best to contact the police immediately so that they can file a report and attempt to do any type of recovery or investigation that they can. Whether it is at Best Buy or any other store, when you park your car somewhere, you still assume responsibility for your own car and your own property. I know this is difficult to read when something so upsetting has happened, but it is for the best that we are clear on that.

I will make sure to inform the management of the Ponce de Leon store about the experience you had with the long wait, as well as the conversation you had with the manager. While our managers should always be respectful and courteous to our customers, they do have the right to ask a customer to leave if they are feeling threatened or if the situation is escalating.

I do hope that your iPad is somehow recovered and that the police are working with you. Once again, I am sorry to read of what happened to your car and your belongings. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns for me. Thank you.

Sincerely,

... Tell the media you left valuables in your car, it was broken into, and Best Buy is the incompetent ones?  Hahaha.  You really are too emotional to understand common sense at this point.

Also, managers at Best Buy make way more than $25k a year.  Good luck with your future, I hope you don't make business decisions for your company based on emotional blinders, like you did here.
