Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

My store considers Frys to be similar to the plague and rarely ever is a price match honored from there unless top manager approval is received. It never made any sense to me either.

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

The excuse is that the closest Frys is over 50 miles away therefore it demands manager approval. Of all the price matches I've checked on only once has it ever been approved because the store is not "local" and therefore we don't have to price match them. This is according to my management.

That's a valid reason. I know there's a range limit for market area, but I can't remember what it is.

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

What I don't understand is why there would be such an issue. I could understand a large amount difference but in the end doesn't a price match still make money for BB compared to our competitor? Distance is one thing but doesn't it come down to customer loyalty as well? I guess I just don't understand as an employee why their is such a fine line being walked.

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

Hello neo2k,

It’s frustrating when a request for a price match isn’t honored.  There are a number of reasons this can happen and I offer my personal apology if you were declined when your request should have been honored.

Our store price match policy can be found here. As long as the conditions outlined are met, you should encounter no problem in seeking a price mach.  However, if for some reason those guidelines are not met (the competitor is out of stock or outside your store’s local retail area, for example) Best Buy® would not be able to honor your request.

I have some additional information for you, so please watch for a private message from me.  To check your forum inbox, please sign in with your user name and password and click the envelope icon in the upper right.

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of the situation!

Sincerely,
John|Community Connector | Best Buy® Corporate

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

John,

I printed the store price match policy and went there and showed them the printout. And still the manager refused to do it saying it was too low.

The conditions were met.

I didn't wanted to waste my time arguing with him so i left on that day.

Looking forward to your PM

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

Seems that manager is more worried about his numbers than policy. Policy > numbers.

Re: STORE PRICE MATCH WAS NOT HONORED.

Seeing that I used to be an employee at this location, matching F-r-y's was always a hassel. We had to call the location, make sure they had the item instock and make sure that it was the same model. We also had to see if the discount was a main-in rebate, and if it was, we could not match it. If it wasn't a mail-in and it was in stock, they should have matched it. I do not know what manager you talked to, but I will say that the management team that was there during my time, was not the greatest. If it was me, I would take it up with the General Manager's District Manager. Just keep climbing the corp. ladder until you find the answer.
