A coworker bought me a season dvd of a tv show on bluray. I am not a fan of the show and would like to return the item for a store credit. I do not have a receipt. Would there be any problems with this return?

First off, have you opened it? If so, then you can only exchange it for the same item.
If not, then you may be able to do a no receipt return. However, that is entirely up to the store to let you do that, as they are not obligated to.

Hi movieman7296,
Welcome to our Forum! As Nokia mentioned, the store would not be obligated to accept your return without a receipt; according to our posted return policy, "Your original receipt is required for all returns, exchanges, price matches and warranty repair services." Also, we do not accept any returns of opened media (only even exchanges if the original is defective).
Thanks for posting!

How did you pay for the item? Try to remember if you did one of the following:
If none of the above are true, it is extremely unlikely that your receipt can be located. To begin the receipt-locating process, you can do one of the following:
If you are able to locate your receipt, you then have to figure out the reason it's broken. Is it from physical damage, ie. did you break the screen? Or did it just stop working? If the former, it's very unlikely that the store will allow you to exchange it, as abused products are not eligible for exchange. Otherwise, the store should allow the exchange, as it is within the 30 day period.

I bought a camera yesterday and have decided I don't like it and want to return it and look into other cameras. I ordered it online and chose the in-store pick up option and when I went to pick it up the person who was working the register didn't give me a receipt because I think the receipt machine wasn't cooperating or something. What should I do?

Call 1-800-BESTBUY. They can look it up for you. I believe the store can also look it up, but I'm not sure.

Along the same lines as has been discussed, does anyone know if the dollar amount of an item being returned without a receipt can be a problem?
My Grandmother sent me a Sony Dash for my birthday, and of course she didn't provide me with a receipt(regular or gift). After using the device for a couple of days, I really don't like it(I cannot play any of my own content, only stuff online)...
anyway, i'd like to exchange it for something else... I don't even mind paying a restocking fee, since I didn't pay for the item to begin with...
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks
stephen

I don't believe that item carries a restocking fee, but as has been stated in this thread, a BB store is under no obligation to accept a return without a receipt. Usually, as the dollar amount goes up, the likelihood that the return will be allowed goes down.

Received a TV as a gift. Never opened, no receipt. Would like to exchange it for a larger TV. What is Best Buy's policy on exchanges without a receipt.
