Re: Price Match Issue

I have never really enjoyed shopping at Best Buy, but thought today I would give it another try.   I was in the market for a new digital camera (not a fancy one) but, still.  I found one and did some research on it.  Best Buy seemed to have the best price.  So, since I am dumb and called customer service to ask a question about this camera.  The customer service rep could not keep the brand of camera (Kodak) I was looking at straight, he kept calling it Fuji..  He then referred me to another camera which had lower ratings on it than the others and said that was a better camera.  Anyway, I order the camera after doing some research and the websites I looked at said Best Buy had the best price.  Wrong.  I went to a competitor's and found the camera cheaper.  So, I called customer service again and she said they refuse to match prices of a competitor, they will only price match themselves if they price goes down in the next ad or next 30 days.  So, I am left pondering if I should cancel my order with Best Buy or let this serve as the same lesson I learned 10 years ago to never shop here.  Advice?

Re: Price Match Issue

I apologize for the issues you had while on the phone with customer service. May I ask who the competitor is?

Re: Price Match Issue

They were incorrect.... from what you posted. I'm guessing you were trying to pricematch a .com site, which is true, we cannot match, only actual stores within the market of the location.

Re: Price Match Issue

Ok...I find it odd that a company won't match online prices, seeing as that is how a lot of people do business now days.  Again, it just goes to prove I should not shop with someone who is not willing to pricematch to keep customers....I would think in today's economy companies would like to keep customers as well as encourage people to shop at their company....policies like this and customer service people who don't know what they are talking about isn't a good way to keep that.  People want to save every penny they can, especially on such items like cameras, tv's, etc....

[ Edited ]

We can only price match stores like our own, Brick and Mortar locations and their online website.

Re: Price Match Issue

price matching should be price matching no matter what.  it is the same product, etc.  i know it sounds stupid to say that, but, companies make it too complicated.  why not just say you pricematch and make it easy for consumers.  again, will not be shopping at best buy anymore.  this was my first purchase there in 10 years and only there because there is not longer another competitor.  i thank all of you for your help.

Re: Price Match Issue

yes, i read your reply and posted the retailer in an earlier message.  it is wm.  i have a hard time believing that bb is a small warehouse that does not carry inventory....again, i will continue with the purchase of this camera and not worry about the pricematching...i will take this as a lesson learned again.  again, thank you for all of your help.

Re: Price Match Issue

Price matching WM should not have been an issue at all.
