It doesn't matter if you report you Best Buy gift as lost or stolen, Best Buy customer service doesn't save any call you made. I had my purse stolen on March 6th around 9:30 pm and report it the next morning before any Best Buy in our area were open. I had a man from customer service take my report and he said he would cance the card and would send a replacement. So today I call them back since all my cards had been replace even my Besy Buy credit card but had yet to receive my gift card replacement. To my surprisethey had no report list and I learned that my gift card had a zero balance and they couldn't replace it since it had been used at the Odessa, TX Best Buy on the 8th of March. This was after I had reported it lost. Of course when I called to report the lost/stolen card on the 7th of March customer service wanted the card number but all threceipt showed was the last four numbers, but I did give him the pin number on the receipt. What the point of reporting it when Best Buy customer service does not put it as been lost/stolen. As of today I have closed my Best Buy account and will no longer shop at Best Buy since they do not care about their customers. My husband spends around one to two thousand a month at Best Buy but that will also change. I'm sorry to read that I'm not the only one, Best Buy is quick to replace their credit card but not any gift cards. Another subject they also mislead you is when they sell you protection plan on any phone you buy from Best Buy and when something happens they will not honor what the sales clerk has told you they will cover. Why spend $16 a month on protection when Verizone offer protection at half the amount. I have been a Best Buy customer for many years but after today they will no longer have my business

Hello mespeak,
I'm so sorry to hear about the theft of your purse. What a major headache to have to go through all the replacement of credit cards. Add all that to the loss of the gift card as well. I would like to do a more thorough investigation of all that transpired, but in order to do that, I will need more information from you.
I will send you a private message which will outline what information I need from you, such as your name, address, and email address. In order to view your private message, please make sure you are logged on to the forum. Look for the tiny envelope located in the upper right corner of the screen. On my screen it's orange in color.
Once I hear back from you, I'll see what we can find out and how we can resolve this for you.
Thank you,
