Best Buy & Geek Squad Policies

I just got an email from the vendor mailing out the upgrades saying that they were getttin ready for the october 22 launch (today is the 28th) and that I would recieve my upgrade between november 12th - 28th.  This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. When I bought the laptop the associate told me it would be a download and it would be available on the 22nd.  Best Buy needs to make sure they tell people about this, If I had known I would have waited to make my purchase, I see I could have gotten a little better laptop with 7 already installed without having to wait for the same amount of money.  I could understand it if I had just bought the laptop but I bought it over 2 months ago and applied for the upgrade the day after I bought it.  This is realy dissapointing.

Unfortunately this is the policies the manufacturer set up for the anytime upgrade program.  However, YOU'RE IN LUCK! Best Buy has partnered with microsoft and the vendors so that if you purchased a qualifying PC, you can bring it into the Geek Squad and for $39 you will receive a copy of Windows 7 off of the shelf and installed by a Geek Squad agent to make sure it gets set up correctly!

What is the policy if the salesperson at Best Buy said the computer was eligible for the free upgrade and now I go to the website and find out the model is not?

I bought a new laptop in September and was told that i would get a free upgrade but when I go to the site that it directs me to it says that my computer is not eligible for a sony upgrade. What should I do?

According to Sony's website, this is a qualifying model.  I also see that it was purchased during the qualifying purchase period.  I'm not able to directly assist with the ordering process through Sony.  But, everything I can find looks like it should be eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade.

Geek Squad® is also offering a Windows 7 upgrade if you pay them to install it ($39.99).  Your purchase would also qualify for this promotion as well.
