Your taking this a little to well. I just saw that I owe 300 plus dollars on deferred interest and you owe 6 times that. I'm livid. I would like to know if there is anything that can be done about this. The fact is that every employee helping you acquire this credit card should sit down with the card owner and tell them the exact meaning of deferred interst and give them a very specific example like yours. With that on the table, there would be no more Best Buy Credit cards being applied for. The fact is people apply for credit because they can not afford to pay for things outright. That is the nature of the beast. Best Buy is getting some type of kick back for choosing HSBC and who ever made the decision to use them should be fired for be being either incompetent or greedy. neither are acceptable. Im in the army overseas and I have to now explain to my wife why she has to sit in our apartment this month and stare at the wall because she can't afford to go out and do anything. absolutely ridiculous !

Hello mlsmith1684,
I do apologize if you feel that we didn't explain the terms and conditions on your Best Buy credit card plainly enough. Deferred interest can be a bit confusing. These promotional interest free offers follow the Credit Card Act of 2009.
If you make a purchase using one of our interest-free financing offers, to avoid paying the interest you need to make sure you are making the minimum monthly payments. The balance would have to be paid in full by the end of the financing term. The date would be marked clearly on each of your billing statements.
Best Buy recently changed our credit card financial institute to Capital One. All contact and financing information remains the same. As you are probably aware, they are a completely separate corporation from us and as such we do not have access to your account. I can, however, advocate on your behalf. Please note that the ultimate authority on your billing resides between you and Capital One. I'll do what I can to help.
Can you please send me a private message with the name and phone number associated with your account. To send a private message, please log on to the forum and click on the private message link to the right of my signature line.
Thank you,
