Last spring, in March, the 28th, 2010, after comparing prices on the Toshiba A 505, and waiting for Windows 7, because I didnt want Windows Vista. I purchased mt Toshiba A 505 from Best Buy. I shopped Media Play, Target, Walmart, Office Max...I knew what I wanted, a 4GB Laptop which would be productive entertaining, and for my work. On March 28th, 2010, I went to Best Buy at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio, n purchased the Toshiba A 505, Quad core, Loaded for under $550,00...an educators dream....I purchasaed it from John a nice salesman who also talked me into the additional 2 year service plan..2 years..at @ $150.00 Now, I looked at the huge screen Toshibas on sale for @$690 bucks but...too big...and with the extended 2 yr warranty, it wouldbe been too much. John talked me in2 the 2 year extended warranty which I happily paid. Since it was going to be used for school, and for my profession I was able to attain it tax exempt. (Education/Teacher) I received the entire package for under $700.00
Within the 1st month the screen went black...they replaced it. I was not able to locate my receipt however, John remembered me, they looked me up, duplicate receipt...no problems. I had installed Nortons 360 on both laptops..the one that was a lemon...and this one. For some weird reason my "Windows media not working" box appears.n I couldnt get online b/c of a friend downloadn Windows 9 Beta... I figure..no problem, I paid for the extended warranty,and my Toshiba's less than 6 months old..I'll pop up there, the "geek squad" will fix it, n Ill be on my way. I have always bought the 2 year extended warranty, I encourage others too, n For the mere $150 bucks, it's well worth it.
I bring it up to Best Buy, the manager tries to fidure it out, he said his name was Donald, however when he couldnt figure it out, and He tried to locate Windows Beta 9, disabled my Norton's, etc.. and the manager..Geek Squad.."Donald," he couldn't figure out the 2 issues either.He asked if I had the extended plan..."yes.." I replied, n the laptops less than 6 months old. He asked for my receipt, I state I didn't have it so the cashier looks me up n prints off another duplicate receipt. Shows I had returned the 1st 1 b/c of a manufacturers defect. (I thought they'd just reload windows 7, or fix the 2 issues by resetting something on internet options.) I return w/my receipt n Donald says, "You didn't buy the extended warranty." I stated that I had. The Toshiba was purchased on March 28th, 2010, on sale, under $550.00 n w/the 2 yr extended warranty..under $700.00 He then said he'd refer me to Toshiba for the warranty..I again stated, I had purchased the 2 yr extended warranty..I had priced others warranties n they were over @300 bucks n I ALWAYS BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES. That's the main reason I came back to Best Buy..no one could beat the warranty. I bought my Sprint phone there, n pay the $10 extra a month to them b/c they cover droppn it in water, etc...n no deductible unlike the phone companies who r charging between @50-$100 even w/insurance. My friend Kevin bought a Dell the same time n paid the exact same price I did but he purchased it somewhere else n did not buy the extended 2 year warranty b/c they wanted @$350..
HERE'S MY QUESTION; I asked "Donald" if he could look 2 see what the store was selling the Toshiba at that week. There has to be a record of there sales. He wouldn't budge. He was rude n unwilling to investigate. DID ANYONE ELSE BUY THE TOSHIBA A505 QUAD, 4GB AROUND MARCH 28TH, 2010 AT ANY BEST BUY IN COLUMBUS? IF SO, I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE PLEASE.
IS THERE ANYWAY TO RESEARCH ONLINE OR ANYONE HERE A BESTBUY REPRESENTATIVE THAT IS WILLING TO TAKE 5 MINUTES AND LOOK AT THE SALES INVOICES FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2010, AND VERIFY, CONFIRM THAT THIS LAPTOP WAS ON SALE FOR WHAT I SAID, N WITH THE 2YEAR @149.00 AGREEMENT TAX EXEMPT COMES TO @$680? I NEED JUST 1 KIND SOUL TO DO THE RIGHT THING HERE PLEASE?
ANYWAY 2 CHECK ARCHIVED SALES OR RECORDS? CLEARLY, YOU KEEP RECORDS OF WHAT SOLD FOR HOW MUCH AND WHEN? I AM FRUSTRATED B/C THIS DONALD...I'VE NEVER SEEN THERE B4 N CLEARLY ISN'T REPRESENTING THE "BEST BUY" I HAVE GIVEN N BROUGHT BUSINESS TO FOR 10 YEARS? ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO RESEARCH THE COMPANIES ARCHIVED SALES DATA RECORDS N WHAT IT SOLD 4 ON THAT DATE OR @ THAT DAY?
I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW I WAS TREATED, THE LACK OF ASSISTANCE I RECEIVED, AND LIKE I'VE JUST THROWN AWAY $150 TOWARD A 2 YEAR EXTENDED PLAN THAT B/C OF AN EMPLOYEES MISTAKE OR WAY THEY TALLIED/INPUT ON REGISTER BECAUSE OF THE "TAX EXEMPT" STATUS ON THE PURCHASE, N THE UNWILLINGNESS OF A MANAGER TO LOOK INTO THIS WHEN I HAVE THE FOLDER, SALESMENS NAME, N PACKAGE PURCHASED PAPERS. I HAVE THE RECEIPT W/TOTAL...CAN ANYONE PLEASE ASSIST ME? TELL ME HOW TO FIND THE PRICES FROM MARCH 28TH 2010? BEST BUY? OR 1 PERSON FROM BEST BUY WHO WILL HELP ME OUT BY LOOKING ON YOUR INVOICE/PRICE LIST FOR THAT MONTH THAT MODEL? OR ANY1 OUT HERE BUY IT ONSALE AROUND MARCH 28TH, 2010 N HAVE A CLOSE TOTAL W/OR W/O THE TAX EXEMPTION?

Firstly, please be aware that you're bumping a thread that's almost three months old, and thus not exactly relevant. It'd be best to make your own for your issue.
Secondly, it is impossible to pay for a Best Buy Service Plan and NOT have it in effect, and linked to a phone number. The conversation in this thread stated this several times.

BUT IF ITS JUST A TOTAL...I HAD SOME GIRL WHO DIDNT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE TAX EXEMPT STATUS/FORM N SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME....CHARGED IT..HAVE NUMBERS..CODES...NO RECORD..JUST LOOKS LIKE I PAID 300 MORE BUCKS 4 THE LAPTOP...HOWEVER..THE TAX EXEMPT FORM MAY REQUIRE THE INDIVIDUAL TOTALS...CLEARLY THEY HAVE GOT SOME KIND OF INVENTORY/INVOICE N THEY CAN SEE WHAT THE ITEM WAS SELLING FOR AT THAT TIME....GETTN MADDER....

That doesn't make sense. Even with tax exempt, the receipt would still show individual SKU numbers for tracking and activation (in terms of the Service Plan) reasons. Is this the official receipt or some tax except form, as you note?

Seriously? If someone walks up to you and starts yelling, what do you assume? That they are yelling, or that they are deaf? You'll probably want to add a line to your sig about that, because otherwise, everyone is going to assume you are yelling because you are!
