Question about exchanging/upgrading Beats by D. Dre

On 3/25/12 (last Sunday), I have purchased a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre Mixr headphones, along with the Geek Squad 2 year warranty. I have used them for a total of six hours and came to the conclusion that they are uncomfortable for my ears. My question is is it possible to return my Beats by Dr. Dre Mixr headphones (they are in new condition, I have everything that it came with, and the cleaning cloth and one of the cords it came with are unopened) and "upgrade" to Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Purple Edition headphones, along with the Geek Squad 2 year warranty. If this is possible, what would be the price for this process? And are there any fees, like a restocking fee?

Re: Question about exchanging/upgrading Beats by D. Dre

Sounds like you're within the 30 day return period so you can return/exchange your product for any reason. You'd just pay the difference in price between the two products and the extended coverage might be a bit more expensive if the new headphones fall into a different price bracket for the GSBTP. . There wouldn't be a restocking fee. So it'd probably be like $50 more for the headphones and few dollars more for the GSBTP, I'd assume.

Bring everything you have for the headphones, a receipt and a driver's license/id.

On a personal note, if you're spending $200+ on headphones, you should consider getting something decent. I get if you're getting the Beats as a fashion statement or whatever, that's fine...but if the headphones are for sound quality and comfort, stick with something like Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Shure, Grado, etc. With the Beats series, you're paying for a set for fragile $50 headphones with a $150 logo on them.
