Best Buy & Geek Squad Policies

I am thinking to buy Sony Play Station Portable, which comes with one year manufacturer's warranties.  When I went to Best Buy, the salesperson suggested me to get the PSP.  Why should I purchase the PSP for the first year when the item I will buy is covered by the manufacturer's warranties?

Manufacturer's warranties only cover manufacturer defects or defects in workmanship, Black Tie Protection covers that as well as

• Protection from dust, heat and humidity
• Failures due to normal wear and tear/usage
• Failures due to power surges
• No-lemon guarantee

There is also an Accidental-Damage plan that covers all that plus accidental damage from handling.
