I hear the floodgates are going to open real soon for the i.Pad

As a person who answers the phone for best buy, I can tell you that I am incredibly tired of being harassed daily about whether or not we have ipads in stock. I can also tell you that we do not know when the shipments come in until they come in, unfortunately. We don't do the ordering - apple sends us however many based on the size of our store and apple section, typically. And taking a list is a VERY uncommon thing. Our store does not do it at all because of the repercussions.
We cannot control what apple does and how many ipads they send us.

Celisa,
When was the last time your store got a shipment in? Can you guess how many you received on that last shipment? Over the last month, how many shipments have you received? What metropolitan area? I'm just trying to establish a pattern. The Dallas/Fort Worth area has over 6 million people and about 8 stores with dedicated Apple Sections.
Thanks in advance.

Dude, just relax. The i.Pad is gonna be all over the place is short order. Apple just did this for a little while to get a buzz. Now it's time for Apple to get serious before the rival companies can launch their counterstrike.

Is this speculation on your part? So far, all you have to say is "I've heard". Where did you hear? What is the timing? At least give us reasons to "take your word for it". Excuse me for being skeptical, but I "also heard" that BB was going to call me when they took my name and number, a month ago, and that was from a manager.

itsdarts,
I hate to tell you but when dealing with Apple there are no patterns and there are no reason why they do what they do, they are just not bound by what people like to bind them too, example, schedules. Also, they are not bound to sending them to certain locations and what not I particularly live in an area that is not to wealthy and not overly crowded with people, but my local BB has gotten a good number of iPads in stock, but of course sell out, but they still get them in.

ok so best buy gets the shippents every week. its a different day everyweek, different models every week, different quanities every week, and different times every week. they dont ship on weekends and dont ship after 5pm on the weekdays. - info coming from a dallas based best buy

That's not true of every BB location.

Why would any employee of ANY company tell you that information? That would likely get them fired.

Even if the iPads do come in, resellers are usually really good at getting their hands on them first.
