I was just at a Best Buy in Lake Zurich IL where I brought in TWO local ads for competitors who had a lower price on a Samsung 24 inch T240 monitor. Both stores had the item in stock and a lower price $399 versus Best Buy's $449. Both are local brick and morter stores on online stores, or discount warehouses, or shopping clubs (Costc etc).
I was told Best Buy dies not consider them competitors ( Fries Electronics , and Tiger Direct (Physical Store formerly compusa).
$399 is only ten below best buys sals price of $409. Don't waste your time.
BB sales are down 26%+ and they couldn' match a sale and provide me the service they advertise.

Hi kkbailey,
From your description it sounds like this purchase could have qualified for our store price guarantee, and I can understand being upset after expecting us to match a competitor’s price and then not getting the price match. A Best Buy® store should match the price of any local competitor that is in a physical location, and both the Best Buy® store and the competitor have the product in stock at the time of the purchase. The exclusions to this policy are open box items, limited-quantity items, clearance items, outlet center items, mail-in offers, financing offers, bundle offers, competitors free offers, pricing errors, and items that were on sale on 11/28/2008 and 11/29/2008. If you had already purchased an item from a Best Buy® store and you see it on sale for less at a local competitor during the return or exchange period we should refund the customer 110% of the difference between the two prices. Existing purchases would also need to meets the criteria of a new purchase price match. Lastly Best Buy® stores do price match club style stores like Costco or Sam’s Club, and we also price match Frys. To view a more detailed description of our in store price match policy you could look here. I would like to see if I can get you resolution in this matter so I am sending you a private message.
