Price match nightmare

So last week 12/4/2011 I walk in to the Downey ca store and purchase a canon t2i for 679.00. Today on my way home I stop in to frys in the city of industry ca and find the same camera for 599.99 I ask the sales associate to print out a price quote for the item. I left the store and went to my local best buy that I have been going to for years and I showed the manager the sale quote and he said sorry but that is not a local store. He said it had to be so many miles from his location. The store is local to a best buy Corp store and he would not price match the camera for me. I was so mad I could have yelled at the top of my lungs. I understand not price matching a online store but to not price match a local store and hide behind a loop hole and say it is not in a mile range from his store is stupid. So if I want to get a price match I have to drive to a best buy near the frys I went to. I can't believe the run around I have to deal with just to get a price match. But I can return it to any best buy I want. Looks like this policy was made by a attorney and not by someone with customer service in mind. Maybe the should take some advice and copy Walmart's price match..

Re: Price match nightmare

It does have to be within 25 miles of the location you are trying to price match. The store was correct in denying it if it did not meet that guideline and yes you would have to go to the closer best buy that is in range.

Re: Price match nightmare

do whatever you wish. They followed their policy and most rational people would not fault them for again, following their policy. I doubt if you put on a facebook page, "best buy's policy says x but I didn't like it so i tried to get it anyways and they said no so THEY SUCK!!!" that anyone would be like wow best buy was in the wrong.

Re: Price match nightmare

There is plenty of them in stock and it is not a limited item. S o what is your point? I don't get your response. Please tell me why I should go out of my way? When I can just return it. Please send this up to your CEO CFO and anybody that will read it. As customer would you like it if the business you purchase a item put you in a ringer just to get a price match? Best buy will not be my first stop when I think of electronics. Mr CEO, CFO please take some advice and use the walmart price match policy.

How is facebook working out for you?

"Its hard to take you serious when you want your ego stroked before youll explain why youre butt hurt over their price match policy."

Gotta love it. The public can be rather harsh huh.

No frankly I like that we match our own web site but if we followed walmarts policy we wouldn't. They don't match their own web site in stores.

Walmart's price match policy also has that it has to be a local competitors price.

They also don't price match limited quantity items.

So theirs looks identical in most ways and worse in one way.

Although I am employed by Geek Squad my opinions do not in any way shape or form represent Best Buy's Official stance on matters. My opinions are solely my own.
