Price Match question

Hi, I purchased a HDTV and accessories (TV stand, HDMI cable, power strip etc) on Jan 14 and had it all delivered and installed by the Geek Squad on Jan 25. This week I noticed that the HDMI cables (3 of them) I had purchased for $49.99 was now $29.99. Originally I thought I had been told that I had 60 days for a price match. So I went to the store yesterday (Feb 16) to get a price match on the cables. However I was told that they cannot do it as it was past 30 days. My question is whether the 30 days start from the purchase date or delivery date? If it was the delivery date of Jan 25, I should be able to get $60 back in price match, if it is calculated from the purchase date I guess I am out of luck.

Thanks!

Re: Price Match question

Hmm this is a sticky situation. When you purchased the tv I assume it was in store since you said that you went to the store to PM.

I assume you walked out that day with the cables? If so they were correct, you had 30 days from the date of purchase to PM. The 60 days is only in reference to the TV itself if the tv cost $899 or more, qualifying it for the perfect match promise. Anything else purchased that day other than the tv would only have a regular 30 day PM window.

Re: Price Match question

Thanks for the reply. Yes we purchased it in the store. Everthing was delivered to us together on Jan 25 including the cables. Mistakenly I assumed the 60 day match applied to everything and thats why I did not go to the store earlier.

Re: Price Match question

A community connector will be here in 2-5 days. Given that the items were delivered with the tv would give you an outside chance of possibly getting a PM since you didn't take possession of said items until then, but I highly doubt that will hold ground.

Basically larger items price match window doesn't start until the item is delivered into your possession. This may be able to apply to the smaller item as it is semi linked to the tv. Basically SN outside shot for the CC/manager to justify why they are PMing outside policy.

Still doesnt hurt to ask.

Personally I don't know why you paid $50 for an HDMI when they often go as low as $1-5 depending on where you look. That being said, I believe Jimmie is correct, in that the price match policy is from date of purchase. However, if you had purchased them during the extended return period for holiday returns(ended 1/24) then you may have likely been able to get it PM'd to the lower price up till that date.

Re: Price Match question

If the product was delivered with the TV, you should have 30 days from the delivery date, not the date-of-purchase.

Can you imagine ordering a laptop online and BB takes 7 days to ship it(apparently it happens a lot) then telling you that you have 14 days to return from the day you order?

Paying Monster cable prices is another topic...

Re: Price Match question

The difference APR is that he could have just taken that item home that day. He bought them INSTORE not online. That is the difference.

If the store was out of stock and had to special order them then I would say you should be able to PM. Forgot about this in my last post.

Look guy..The tag line
"Failure is not an option—it comes bundled with the software" is getting VERY OLD. People stopped using them about 10 years ago. Get with the times!!!

Re: Price Match question

Hello User134119,

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry about the delay with my response, this is a question that is time sensitive. The correct answer is that the price match time frame is the same as the return period- this means it begins when your product is delivered. Since you received the cables on 1/25, you are still within the return period. I would suggest going to the store with your receipt for them to process the price match as soon as possible.

I hope this helps!
