Re: Poor Attitude over Price Matching

Sorry you are having such a bad experience!!! thats nothing like the experiences i had with best buy. I went into my local BB and as soon as the door opened someone welcomed me!! Not even 5 minutes later after walking into the computer dept, someone walked up to me and asked if i needed help, which i did so i asked her a question, she answered it, and i bought a computer from her. I will ALWAYS think about best buy in my future electronic purchases!

Anything i say is not a direct response from Best Buy or Geek Squad. I just post on here to add my insight.

Re: Poor Attitude over Price Matching

Hi akawilegger,

I understand your position in regards to your store experience and although I cannot speak on behalf of the store, I do work for Corporate and offer my sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

However, as I have previously addressed your issues and through store correspondence, I found that you rejected offers made by the store for a resolution on your television price match inquiry.  You were offered the sole available television in the district, which regrettably, was the floor model display.

If you wish to continue our conversation or have additional concerns, feel free to reply to this thread or if desired, send me a private message by clicking on the link in my signature bar.

Thanks for posting,

Re: Poor Attitude over Price Matching

Like I said, more of the same from BB - sure...I could take a TV that sat on the shelf, open and being used in the store for the same price that I got a BRAND NEW ONE FOR??  I suppose that is the best that a substandard company as BB could do for someone spending $1000.00 before the warranty?  Besides the offer of a basically used TV and the offensive customer service, I cannot imagine that Best Buy approves of this type of behavior.  It seems that if they were offering me a floor model TV (used TV) would it not then follow that the TV would have already been discounted (below the amount being paid at the competitor for something un-used)?  If I were to have been offered a floor model at a lower price than was advertised in the competitors flyer, I may have considered the offer.  I was not offered anything but the floor model and they would have had me pay the competitors advertised price.  Is this more of Best Buy POLICY that we hear so much about?  Should the clerk or manager perhaps even attempted to keep the customer by offering to throw in a DVD player or discount the TV to something below the competitors (New in the box) price?  As well - wouldnt it have been the smart thing for the manager to have checked the BB district stores before allowing me walk out of the store???????  As you told me Justin, the manager did check the district stores for the same model (AFTER THE FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!).  More of the same!!!!  Lip service and empty apologies go only so far - everyone I know is fully aware of my experience at BB and anyone I meet will be sure to hear it as well!!!!!!!! From all I have seen and heard, Best Buy has no interest in their customers as is witnessed by all the complaints on these forums!!!

Re: Poor Attitude over Price Matching

Wait, wait wait.  You were demanding a price match on a specific TV ... correct?  Now you're upset simply b/c the tv wasn't in stock ... and "you were offered the sole available television in the district, which regrettably, was the floor model display."  If the MFG hasn't replenished BB's stock of the paticular TV you were wanting, that has nothing to do with BB.  MFGs also rarely inform BB if and when they will be supplying anymore stock of any particular item.

The CC on this thread stated that BB doesn't condone the type of behavior of the BB associates you dealt with.  Your concerns were also forwarded on to the management of that store, I'm sure.

This situation has nothing to do with a policy of BB's.  As the CC stated, you only wanted a particular TV which happened to not be available except for 1 floor model, which you declined accepting.  Maybe the manager would have knocked a little more off the price since it was a floor model ... but I'm assuming when you outright refused the offer at the mention of a floor model, this wasn't even discussed.  The manager doesn't have the authority to give away free products, unfortunately.  Gift cards can sometimes be offered as a form of compensation, but only Consumer Relations can grant these, in most circumstances.

I'm sure the managers checked the inventory system when they were searching for the TV initially.  Maybe they just didn't mention they were doing so but in most programs, once a product SKU is listed in pulls up warehouse inventory, plus store location inventory ... which would be "checking the district" in your terms.

Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!

Re: Poor Attitude over Price Matching

Lets just put it this way - I wont ever return to BB and will encourage everyone to avoid even looking in BB for any purchase.  As for the CC forwarding the customer service issues on to the management - the biggest issue with that is IT WAS THE MANAGEMENT THAT TREATED ME SO POORLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  As if I could expect anything to come of this??  Now, dealing with the manager regarding the floor model - he knew the specific TV and if you read the first group of posts, you would have taken note that the manager made it personal when I requested to know why I could only be offered a floor model.  If you scroll down, you will see that he advised me that he would "rather send it back to the manufacturer than give it to me for less than he paid for it!".  I dont suspect that this particular individual was in any way ready to lower the price since he wouldnt even consider selling me the TV at the price I actually purchased it for somewhere else.  So, you can keep your empty apologies and your worthless customer service and enjoy the customers for now.  Sooner or later, the rest of the public will find out just how much Customer Service means at BB.  I already know and have no desire to return there.  I have had many friends already assure me that they would not go there either.  Considering the high quality of customer service I can get at a store that sells the same products at a better price for the consumer, is there any reason that ANYONE still shops at Best Buy?????????????  I'm guessing that once others realize they dont have to put up with the poor treatment, they will also go elsewhere and then 'BB will go belly up.  It wont happen soon enough for me!
