If you change the OS in the laptop, and for some reason, it doesn't work, can the 2 year psp warranty cover that?

Best Buy's Performance Service Plans (PSPs) do not cover software-related issues.  The Geek Squad could certainly assist you with your operating system issues; however, there would be costs associated with these services.

If you'd like some technical feedback from other users in this forum about the problem you're experiencing, I'd encourage you to post a question in our Computers board.  It's possible some of our computer experts may be able to help.

Hi again, max08.  An operating system installation currently costs around $129 in stores; however, please bear in mind that the Geek Squad will let you know if other services are recommended in order to get your system entirely up and running.  More info about Geek Squad computer services and pricing can be found here.
