i purchased a black xbox elite a week or two before halo 3 came out (so like a year and a half ago). I also purchased the 2 year product replacement plan and I have had to come back only 2 times to exchange for a new one (stupid fog) and they have been very kind to me about it. Now that i see there is a red one coming out, i was wondering if it was at all possible to exchange my old one for the new red one, pay any difference, and purchase a new 2 yr replacement plan for it?
SuperMATT01,
Glad to know there are some good gamers out there, and glad to hear your have had success with Best Buy's 2yr Product Replacement Plan. I realize what it is to love video games and fear my system breaking and having no where to turn.
In regards to your question, although the replacement plan comes in handy for many purposes, unfortunately it is not used or designed as an exchange/upgrade plan. The plan which you have noticed is worth the money should your system have certain issues, does not allow you to exchange a working unit for a new one.
Although in your case it sounds like for one reason or another you have some bad luck with XBox 360's so maybe you will get "lucky" and you can then exchange your unit for a new Red Elite system.
I guess I will say hope your system breaks and you get what you want.
On a side note, smart move with the replacement plan, honestly there are some things I would never buy plans for but gaming systems is a no brainer, getting a gift card for my once 300.00 PS2 and saving it for my 360 was evidence enough that it is a smart buy.
