Nightmare type of shopping experience

I purchased a washer from Best Buy and now I'm thinking that was the 1st mistake I made. My washer is covered under the Best Buy "black tie" warranty. I have had people come to my home 10 times to make repairs. I have asked over and over to just have my washer that's not even 1 year old to be replaced. I've had repair men come to my home and not even want to leave a receipt for repairs. My wife and I are in our 80's and it would be safe, and more practical for us to wash from the comfort of our home, but we made a bad choice to shop with Best Buy for a brand new washer that now has more replacement parts that my car that's 20 years old. I am at my wits end. In the Geek Squad brochure., the geek quad advertises "no lemons". Anything to get your money

Re: Nightmare type of shopping experience

Hi itsjusky,

Anyone would be frustrated after ten visits from a tech to repair this washer. I can certainly understand you looking at any possibility of replacement, and hopefully I can shed some light on when your service plan would replace this appliance.

Your service plan is intended to repair your washer, but there are certain circumstances in which it would replace the item.  Your washer should be replaced by your service plan if it has had three previous qualifying repairs, and there is a diagnosis that a fourth repair is needed. A qualifying repair is when a non-consumable part(s) is installed, due to that part(s) installation the technician determines the washer is repaired, and then closes out the current work order.

Your service plan would also replace this appliance if we determine the washer is not repairable, or if we see that the repair of the washer would not be cost-effective to continue. Keep in mind that if your service plan does replace the washer the plan is considered fulfilled (per the terms of the plan), and if you wanted extended coverage on the replacement unit it would be at cost to you.

I would like to personally look into this, and see if this washer qualifies for replacement. I am sending you a private message to gather some personal information. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
