Re: Want to know why Best Buy is going down the tubes?I have the answer...

Heavenfire -

I'm not sure what your link was supposed to go to, it only went to the Best Buy & Geek Squad Policies Main Page when I clicked on it.

Instead I clicked on your name and when through several of your 14 posts trying to find what you may have been referring to. I think I found a thread titled "Never Again" where you talk about several iPads you've purchased and returned for different reasons, the most important one I could find was "light bleed."

Personally, I haven't purchased an iPad yet, so I don't know what light bleed is or what other problems there might be. I would think after the 2nd purchase having the exact same problem, I would shop for something else entirely, not keep trying to get the same product over and over again.

I think its almost funny how people will go back to the same retailer again and again for the same manufacturer's product, never saying its the manufacturer's fault, but that its the retailer's fault the product is faulty. "Its the retailer's fault" is silly. No, its the Manufacturer's fault! Sell your APPL stock now, they're making crap... oh wait, no, hang onto it - there are all kinds of loyalists to Apple that will keep buying their junk and make that stock worth a lot more.

I understand you keep going back to Best Buy because they give you Gift Cards instead of the cash you spent. Every retailer will do this OR send you a check in the mail. They rarely have the cash to hand back to you, unless its seconds after you've handed it to them. When they clear out the registers, they put the counted cash into a locked safe, usually through a one-way deposit "hole" they can't retrieve it from, and they can't just go register to register collecting the funds, because that would throw off the Accounting.

Good luck to you though with this "no return for 90 days" thing. I hope you get some resolve. Maybe they will allow the return and mail you your funds back instead of the gift card.

Before posting I try to research everything first or use my own experiences. I do not now nor have I ever worked for Best Buy. I work for the competition.
If you respond to a post of mine, I will read it. I may or may not post in the thread again, but rest assured I will read your response :smileyhappy:

Re: Never again!

I could understand being very unhappy if my service provider was Verizon and I received an AT&T iPad.

That said, I have trouble believing that Apple is cranking out that many defective iPads. One of the reasons there are so many of us "Apple loyalists" is that (a majority of the time) you get what you pay for. Apple is not known for rushing software or hardware to market before it's ready for prime time. I have Apple products ranging from an older iPod Video to a newer iPod Touch (not to mention the iMac I'm using to write this with) and have yet to encounter a single manufacturing defect.

Re: Never again!

Day 7 with NO RESPONSE.. Aslso, I love apple products as much as the next guy, however, there is AMPLE data that suggests otherwise when it comes to perfection of newly released products from Apple, inc. Actually it is quite the opposite, Apple has been known, recently, to rush their new hardware to market with plenty of manufacturing defects. iPad 2 had the same issue with screen bleeds, iPhone 4 had antena-gate, just recently. Not to mention the whole AT&T fiasco currently. Needless to say, Apple isn't perfect, but neither is my BMW M3. However, when all the bugs are worked out, it is one mean machine, same goes with Apple's products. But back to the task at hand, can I please have this resolved, one way or the other, already. I need to attack my next approach at righting this apparent wrong... All I want to do is exchange this AT&T IPAD FOR A VERIZON VERSION OF THE SAME SPECS, PLEASE!!! Something that happens thousands of times a day during BB's day.. For crying out loud, this was not even my error..

Your guess is correct, I hadn't heard about the confusion in Australia. I was only going by many years of using iTunes and iPods, as well as several recent purchases of newer Apple products. I also plan to get an iPhone soon (before Verizon starts charging a $30 upgrade fee) and my wife will be getting an iPad. I don't believe your links change the fact that personally (as I stated before) I have yet to encounter a single manufacturing defect in any Apple product.

Accept as solution

Does anyone have any possible idea how much I would love to tap this button..For this mess http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-Geek-Squad-Policies/Never-again/m-p/499931#M69489 All I want to do is exchange this iPad made by AT&T FOR THE ORIGINALLY SOUGHT VERIZON version of the same specs...I am well within the 30 day return window, there were two exchanges which were not even made at my request. An employee did not know the policy, or worse, did and attempted to sell me a 400.00 deposit and 35.00 activation fee along with a two year data plan agreement. Same employee returned two iPads at HIS ERROR causing me to tally extra returns..Eventhough that I WAS SOLD THE WRONG THING.. I have been denied, for 90 days, any returns or exchanges for exchanging a defective iPad even though each time, I upgraded or bought other merchandise. I came here for a resolution and have been assigned a ghost because it is now day 7 and I have had not one helpful reply, pardon me if I have become somewhat cynical through this, so called, resolution process. What?..this behavior is ludicrous and should be a twilight zone episode. What I cannot grasp is how this is BEST BUY corporate and NO ONE has even bothered to reach me concerning this issue.. I honestly am feeling a bit angry and like I may need to do myself a service and take this to a local store where my VOICE WILL BE HEARD...TODAY!

Re: Accept as solution

Why don't you just have a family member return it......problem solved.
