Never again!

Today was THE LAST DAY, I will never use best buy as my #1 electronics retailer. The current issue goes back to the week of St Valentines Day and today Best Buy chose to force my hand And insure I would never personally purchase, promote or recommend ANYTHING involving the Best Buy chain. All because THEY chose to completely absolve themselves of any responsibility of selling faulty and defective Hardware, namely the one and only, APPLE iPad 3, ie The New iPad. THREE OF THEM All I wanted was that which I had purchased, from their store, and within the return policy implemented, to be as advertised and properly in working order. However, I have purchased 2 of Apple's iPads from Best Buy, ALL of which have been DEFECTIVE..Also, ONE which was returned on LAUNCH DAY at the reccomedation of an EMPLOYEE because " Verizon iPads are REQUIRED TO HAVE theirs Activated through OUR (Best Buy's) mobile store, which require a down payment and an activation fee" So, now, I have "reached my return limit" and cannot return ANYTHING FOR 90 DAYS..Therefore, I am STUCK with an AT&T IPAD(number 2) which has a horrible LIGHT BLEED.. How about some history?..FIRST, BEST BUY HOOKED ME INTO A GIFT CARD..Even-though My initial purchase was IN CASH AND RETURNED WITHIN THE ACCEPTABLE RETURN PERIOD.. I ORIGINALLY purchased a gift for my daughter the 2nd week in FEBUARY, over time, until today, I BOUGHT THREE IPADS which, ALL WERE DEFECTIVE...Now, I am not a picky person, I simply expect to AT LEAST get something close to what I paid and I KNOW, NOT ALL Best Buy's current items are as defective as Apple's IPADS..but this is unacceptable from a retailer where I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars.. Now, I have an IPad, that is WORSE THAN THE PREVIOUS 3 and DENIED a future return, SO, I AM STUCK ONCE AGAIN..First, the gift card, now, another defective, LIGHT BLEEDING IPAD..Which is the wrong carrier because of an EMPLOYEE's error, once again!, yep, I told the manager I needed Verizon, given AT&T.. THIS IS THE END, simply because, it appears, once BEST BUY IS SATISFIED THAT YOU SHOULD BE SATISFIED, YOU ARE DONE!!!...Take it or leave it? Really? Unless I am very,very surprised, I will never be able to give best buy my hard earned money again...Also,Not that it matters but Apple, inc should spend a little more time putting their tablets together and less time in mass production..

Take it to apple use the manufacture warranty. You have obviously learned your lesson the hard way like I did, I will never spend a dollar at BB again either!

When someone learns a lesson they usually move on to bigger and better things...

I AM NOT DONE BY A LONG SHOT...

Bow, the only thing that will satisfy me is a COMPLETE REFUND..

Legally, I am within my rights to seek a refund, I have not violated my end of the contract, I was sold a defective item on more than one occasion causing me to return the item per company policy. My state has lemon laws and it helps that I am a state employee with a network that spans thousands, not including the Internet.

I mean, I really don't believe I am I out of line by resorting to a refund after having to go through this mess of an iPad 3 purchasing experience..Which is NOT what I want!! Because I honestly LOVE my iPad(s), including my original, my two iPad 2's and believe it or not, I really love this "New iPad"..I just expect it to be a little more than "JUST FUNCTIONAL"..It should be what I paid for..I honestly, do not WANT a refund, I want an iPad 3 that is as close to CORRECT as it can be under the right carrier considering there really is NO activation fee or Deposit as I was led to believe (for whatever reason) by a BEST BUY Employee..

Initially it was the Verizon 32G "New" iPad,but was just about "Forced" into settling for the AT&T version because of a BB Mobile employee who, either didn't have any idea what he was doing, or that they were expecting a "Kick-Back" from Verizon for Deposits and a One Time "Activation Fee" for setting up service for 4G LTE.

I really have no idea why this is happening because, I was only technically responsible for returning two of the 4 (remember two of those returns were at the request/mistake of a BEST BUY Employee which had taken place mere seconds after the original purchase and the boxes had not even been opened and I personally believe they should NOT be charged to my "return ACCOUNT" considering there is actually an entity known as such..

The other two returns were from HORRIBLE Screen issues involving Light Bleeding Defects, which are WELL KNOWN among this release of Apple's "New" iPad as well as the last iPad 2 Production..

Best Buy has simply allowed an outside agency they use to track returns to THROW a Loyal Long Term Customer to the DOGS, from under the bus!!

I don't know what I have to do but I am searching high and low, through Best Buy Corporate, Apple, inc, BBB and whoever else, world wide on the internet to simply wash my hands of this issue and get my original purchase price back in the form which it was paid to Best Buy, CASH Money (or Check)..

Now, with that said, the manager stated when asked, if when I got this current iPad home, I found the same light bleeding issue as with the others he stated, "We(Best Buy) Will DO WHAT IS RIGHT to FIX the issue."..In front of several witnesses, including my wife and children..

I told him, that is what I needed to hear to to take the current iPad and not just seek a refund right then and there. So, Guess what, This current iPad 32G AT&T LTE(after I asked for Verizon) does, in fact, have the SAME light Bleeding ISSUE!

I should not be forced to live with being sold the WRONG and faulty Product from Best Buy over and over again,that is in warranty,within return policy period that is defective at NO FAULT of my own..

I honestly do not get forcing someone to sign a receipt stating all future returns will be denied for 90 days because of "PEOPLE ABUSING THE SYSTEM"...

Abusing what system?? Having to drive 20 miles ONE WAY to return a DEFECTIVE PRODUCT? Please explain how this Benefits ME in ANY WAY?? Especially when Gasoline is $3.70 Per Gallon??

I have wasted more time dragging my family back and forth to best buy that what would ever offer ANY BENEFIT..For the FUEL and TIME Spent, I could have bought another Tablet for my daughter and we could have had an extra..

There is NO benefit having to waste your time fixing an issue which is NO FAULT of mine own..If anyone has suffered abuse it is My Handicapped Loved One I was forced to take to Best Buy, Over and Over and Over to just get what I had hoped to purchase only ONCE!!!

Abuse you say?? Really?...Abuse is being at the mercy of a mega Corporation who has millions of dollars at their disposal and uses it's power to simply ignore my concerns of purchasing DEFECTIVE Products and hoping this HUGE MEGA Corporation will stand by their customer's return issues..Because, what can the simple person do, right? Eat Cake!!?Honestly, does anyone in Best Buy REALLY believe I benefited by having to return an item because of NO FAULT of my own?? Really?

I have wondered, Had I been sold the original Verizon iPad if ANY of this mess would have happened??? I bet that iPad was PERFECT, haha!!

I just realized my original post has been tucked away and MOVED away from where I posted it?? But NO ONE has come forward to even acknoledge I had an issue..

 

Heart Broken!! Seriously, as many times as I have bought items from Best Buy, I honestly feel as if Best Buy has Thrown me to the DOGS! All I simply wanted was an iPad for my Daughter so she can continue her school work at home and be able to get an education by using the technology offered by Apple's iPad and what we ended up with was a lesson of The MEGA Corporations Vs the Little Guy or We, The People!

What they have done is NOT Right!!!! This Started out as a Valentines Day Gift so my daughter could use it for Home School, those of you who know her, know why she is being Home schooled, She needed an iPad so badly and now we have been SHUT OUT by Best Buy's Return Policy because "Some People Abuse The System!!" (According to the fine young, manager who told us IF the current iPad was Defective "They Would Do What IT Takes To Make IT RIGHT"..

Well, it IS NOT RIGHT, ONCE AGAIN!!!!!

You have provided me with another DEFECTIVE iPAD 3 That has LIGHT BLEEDING ISSUES and which happened to ALSO BE THE WRONG DATA CARRIER, Again,!!!! It is almost like an episode to the Twilight ZONE!

 

We need Verizon and NOT AT&T, Why can't they understand ????

Yesterday, April 6th, 2012, The manager said, regardless of being FORCED into signing a notice stating "Return Warned" sent by"RETAIL EQUATION", They WOULD, "Do whatever it takes to Make it right IF there were issues involving this purchase (4/06/2012), Welp, Guess what?? There ARE issues, Once AGAIN, A DEFECTIVE Light Bleeding Screen and WE WERE GIVEN THE WRONG DATA CARRIER(AT&T) Once Again!!, REALLY??? What is going on? My Lord, I do NOT understand???

We shall see!!! Because now, I am going to simply resort to seeking a COMPLETE REFUND!!! I will just actually order one from APPLE Directly, surely, THEY CAN GET IT RIGHT!!!!

kst8no1: Sorry, but much like digital downloads I believe your time here is entirely non-refundable. If that is not how it works, a Best Buy Community Connector may be along in 3 to 5 business days to correct me. :smileywink:

 

Heavenfire: Typical response time from a Best Buy Community Connector is 3 to 5 business days. Sometimes it's sooner, other times it can be longer, but most don't work on weekends. Good luck.

So because Apple messed up and had iPads that were not up to your standards(What were the other 'defects' in your opinion that caused you to return the other ones btw?) you kept returning them and now are mad at BB for enforcing their return policy limit on you?

 

Honestly, most electronics released nowadays have some percentage of defective items shipped from the factory. Even on things such as HDtv's they allow a certain percentage of dead/stuck pixels. 

 

But again, what were the 'defect's that you felt were so bad that required multiple returns in a short span of time?

Reading is a fundamental virtue..

 

TWO of the returns were due to an employee not knowing the facts when, ON Launch Day only 10 minutes after, I bought what I actually WANTED, which was, the iPad 32G LTE with VERIZON as the Data Carrier.(I have already stated this)

 

He, the employee, told me VERIZON was requiring for ALL LTE iPads to be "Activated" through Verizon BEFORE leaving the store, which would would charge a 35.00 "Activation Fee", Credit Check and 400.00 Deposit for services.

 

WHICH WAS UNTRUE!!

 

They actually walked my original ipad purchase over to the RETURN Counter and started doing the return after sending me from the counter (where I made my purchase) over to the "Best Buy MOBILE" Department, where I was to have my Credit Card used to set up a TWO Year Agreement for VERIZON Data Services and Activation Fee.Even though I was continually bringing up the question of using a Credit Card to ACTIVATE the iPad during SET-UP, Which I had done previously with 2 other iPad Models..

 

This happened TWO times, Once intentionally by the Employee, and secondly by accident because the Young Gentleman behind the counter scanned the wrong item or something, I still cannot understand what exactly happened because Launch Day was a "little busy"..After this happened, they went and pulled an AT&T Model of the same specs. Rang it up and Off I went..They were actually joking that I was probably the first person to "Return/Exchange" an iPad 3 in the World..

 

I did feel it was Ironic, AT&T did NOT require ANY activation Fee or Need a Credit Card/Check for Data Services for iPad LTE Models.

 

So, without any real choice, I was FORCED into a RETURN/ Exchange, I get the iPad home, and there was a horrible LIGHT BLEED across one entire side of the screen. So, this would be ipad 3's first REAL Return..

 

Several times I was back to BB Looking for information on why I was told there would be Deposits and Fees with NO LUCK..until one day, I went back in hoping to NOT have a screen that was pastey white on one side and Perfectly Pixelated on the other and I hear Verizon was just having communication problems and after I get home from exchanging  the AT&T and learn that Verizon HAD "FIXED or IRONED Out" the issues behind the myth of "Activation Fees" being implemented..I call, once again and I am told there would be NO PROBLEM IF I WANTED TO EXCHANGE my ipad for a Verizon Model..Just hurry because they didn't know if there would be any in stock when I made it back in..

 

 

SO, I decided, I would shoot to return my Ipad to GET WHAT I REALLY WANTED, The Verizon IPAD 3. Also, during the return of number 3, I had returned/Upgraded my CASE because the one I wanted at LAUNCH was SOLD OUT, this time I was able to get the one I wanted.

 

 

During the period of waiting to get back to BB, I called several times to ensure there would be NO Issue with returning, and also, EVERY TIME I was in the Store, I asked the SAME..I even was told by the Apple Rep, to just hold onto it until I could secure one of the Verizon iPads and Just EXCHANGE the AT&T..

 

All I want is the Verizon iPad 32G LTE,(Without a LIGHT BLEED)and which I originally purchased and was told it would cost me another 435.00 in Deposits and Fees BY EMPLOYEE ERROR..I don't think that is too much to ask especially since my iPad 3 is under the Return Period(at the time of my attempted return) by several days.

 

When I went in this last time, I was AGAIN shooting for the Verizon Model, which wasn't in stock, I was afraid, since I had been told ANY Future Returns would Be DENIED, I went ahead and EXCHANGED the iPad I was Sold with the HOPES it would NOT have a Horrible Light Bleed but guess what, The one I have now, AT&T 32G 4G has the worst light bleed of them ALL..

 

I just didn't want to get stuck with a DEFECTIVE electronic for all the time and effort I have spent simply trying to get back to that original purchase of the Verizon 32G LTE I made and was led away in ERROR and NO fault of mine own..

 

However, it seems, according to some, I am abusing the Exchange system..I find that simply a "cop out" for selling the WRONG INFORMATION and the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing..

 

I know people make errors, I have made plenty during my life,just not this time, and I shouldn't be the victim of someone elses mistakes..This is what is occuring!!

 

In the END, this "ISSUE" is in NO WAY my fault..I just want it to be made RIGHT, NOT Close to right or almost right, BUT RIGHT,and I will gladly get on with my life..

 

It may not be a big deal to you but it is to me because I expect not to be required to pay nearly 1000.00 for something that is faulty or defective, AND The WRONG ONE, at the cause or error of another person or entity simply because of a computer generated number..This is what happens when the human being is taken out of the equation because every circumstance cannot be justified by the data of a computer processor..

With all this trouble with the new iPad, I think you should consider a Samsung Galaxy tablet or Asus Transformer instead.
