Need a copy of store receipt

I purchased a Dynex TV, model  DX-L40-10A on 3/5/10 at the Bay Parkway Street, Brooklyn, NY which cost $653.  Now I find today the TV have no sound, I cannot find the receipt, I paid by a credit card which I no longer have, is there a way to get a copy of the receipt?

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

If you have time, you can just go to the store and they can pull it up for you, or, sit tight and one of the Community Connectors can assist you.

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

Is there any time limit on being able to pull up a receipt?  Like only receipts in the past 90 days, 6 months, year?

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

Nope. No limit. Well. I take that back. I know in the past BBY has upgraded systems, so, obviously receipts from YEARS and YEARS ago wouldn't be accessible, but the past decade or so and you should be good :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

Nothing infuriates me more than purchasing a product that fails shortly after general usage, so I feel your pain.  As far as not having a receipt goes...I've dealt with Best Buy for many a years...let me tell you...depending on the store location...you can purchase something one day...have a copy of the receipt...the original packaging...the original shopping bag...even security footage of you buying the item...but you can go in the next day for a return and if their system has no "record of transaction" you could give them a urine, blood, stool, and saliva sample and they will still refuse your exchange.

So take what the system can pull up with a grain of salt.  Because it will not always go in your favor.  Next time you make a major purchase on a credit card...save a screenshot or printout of the actual transaction from your card issuer because even if the account gets closed  federal court still can't turn away from that proof, lol.

Also, in the future...stay away from Dynex and next time you are in the market for a new tv especially in that price range...check out newegg.com or amazon.com...a lot of times you can get way more quality for the money with better buyer protection and superior record keeping.

Sound is very important to the viewing experience...so good luck and best wishes!

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

If you have a reciept, you will not be denied a return or an exchange if it falls in the policy. Mramesy11 is simply mistaken on that point.

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

Thanks mramsey11 for the input, I agree with you 100%.  I was on the phone with Best Buy for 1 hour and they could not find any record of the purchase.  I will go to the store where I purchased the TV and see if I will have any luck, if not I guess I will have to pay for repairs out of pocket.  From this experience, I will never buy another Dynex product and Best Buy will never get my business again.

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

Can they also pull up the record of the product replacement purchased at the same time as the product?

Re: Need a copy of store receipt

It's my understanding that having a PRP, PSP, or GSBTP actually makes it EASIER to find a transaction, because the customer's name is guaranteed to be associated with that transaction.

The hardest receipts to pull up are those that are paid for in cash, without a RewardZone account, because there are no unique identifying characteristics to use to find the transaction.
