Nano 3rd Gen Warranty

Hello all:

I've been having some problems with my Ipod Nano, 3rd generation.  It is freezing on me quite frequently.  I have the 2 year protection plan, whichi is current, and want to know a couple of things:

1: Will Best Buy uphold the terms of the plan because my Ipod is freezing or will I have to go to Apple?

2: Can I give back this Ipod and use the balance towards the purchase of a Ipod Touch?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dee

Re: Nano 3rd Gen Warranty

Hello Dee,

I’m sorry that you’re having problems with your iPod Nano.  I depend on my iPod, so I know how frustrated I would be with the unit freezing.

Best Buy® will, of course, live up to our obligation under your Product Replacement Plan (PRP).  What that means is that, as long as the unit is failing due to manufacturer’s defect or any of the covered conditions such as internal heat, humidity, dust, etc., and has not sustained any damage due to neglect or abuse, the unit will be replaced by us for comparable technology after the defect is verified.

If a suitable replacement is not available, Best Buy® will then provide a voucher or gift card for the original purchase price that may be used for any purpose.  Since Apple still manufactures the iPod Nano, even though it is a different model, this is what you would be offered as a replacement product.  You may certainly ask the BlueShirts or Geek Squad® Agents at your local store if there are additional options, but in this circumstance you would most likely not be offered a credit toward the iPod Touch.

I hope this helps!
