I bought a Samsung over the range microwave model # SMH1611W the end of November and it is already broken. All the electronics work on it and it "turns on" but does not heat. What type of warranty is there for this. I don't think I should have to buy a new one or pay for a service call for something I've only had for 5 months.

Microwave has a 1 year MFG warranty for parts&labor. You can bring it in to Best Buy and they'll send it out for repair under the MFG warranty at no cost, or you can contact Samsung and deal with them directly.

Hi JK12,
I show this model Over-the-range microwave comes with a one year warranty, which should mean you should be able to get it repaired under Samsung’s warranty. To arrange for the repair of this microwave you can bring it into your local Best Buy store, or you can contact Samsung directly to set up the repair of the unit. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks for posting,
