Re: Mall of Georgia Best Buy's Geek Squad is pathetic.

BB does own Dynex, so Allan should be able to help him.

The circumstances of this incident are suspicious. The store could indeed overlook this suspicious scenario, but why? Doesn't sound like good business.

The OP claims they will be taking the business elsewhere, but nobody else would replace this TV.

SlimJim ~ i'm curious as to what is suspicious about this incident?

Irregardless if another retailer would or would not replace the TV, I can still take my buisness elsewhere for the way

this was handled and how I was treated at the store.

One customer lost is the first step... and then another and another.

Allan - did you really read the whole message? His TV fell because of a defect in the structure. A pin, that is supposed to hold the tv to the pedestal BROKE. Therefore, this is considered a defect. And, if it would have injured his son, BB would have more to worry about than simply replacing his tv. I do hope that BB, at a minimum, replaces this tv (even though this customer said he wanted nothing from BB).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh Lord... welcome to sue happy America where it's ALWAYS the big companies's fault.

While our society may be litigous, had the TV injured the OP's child, that would definitely have been a legitimate suit, if only for medical expenses at the minimum.

A single incident: highly unlikely unless this takes place in some yahoo court with an acting judge (non-elected). Many incidents = class action, then yes.

Where did I mention a class-action lawsuit? If a mfgs. product failed due to a defect and caused damage or injury, you better believe I'd be looking at legal options.

So I guess there is no such thing as a lawsuit that does not contain the words Class action. Guess smalls claims courts are there for the fun of it as well. /rollseyes

There have been several cases won where it was just a single manufactures defect that caused harm to someone and the plantiffs successfully sued for medical costs.

Re: Mall of Georgia Best Buy's Geek Squad is pathetic.

Do any of the posts about culpability and argument over who did or didn't say "class action" actually contribute to getting the issue resolved, or contribute to discussion about the issue at hand?  If not, that line of conversation would probably be better served somewhere else.

There are several stores that would take it back, I know of 2 that I have managed that would have.  I don't see one suspicious flag about his post.  Instead of looking for a reason NOT to take it back, how about look for a reason to take care of the customer?  Maybe if you took care of him he would purchase more things from BB instead of complaining about the service to everyone he knows.....................
