In the last month…4 different friends and family have been harassed by sales people and
have gone elsewhere.
My parents asked me to go with them today to buy a new laptop at the Lancaster Ohio Best Buy.
The Sales person insisted that we get the “geek squad optimization”. When we said we didn’t want it,
a geek squad employee came over and said it was Best Buy policy.
I called another Best Buy store and they said that “optimization” wasn’t required and that
the “Geek Squad” tries to force uneducated buyers into getting it because they get paid on
the repairs they do.
Is this True?

optimization is not required, they are just require to push the sale, geek squad highly recommends the optimization because people don't know what they are getting a computer. by doing optimization u are guarantted to get a clean computer, instead of a computer that comes with ads, demo program, and trial softwares. it takes up nearly another up to 40% of system memory.
a lot of people complain about computers too slow and come back and return those computers.
and by doing optimization, geek squad is trying to promote the Services, showing what they can do. but little do customers know, all they think is they're getting ripped for $40 in reality geek squad is doing you a favor. all people think nowadays is to save money.
