Hello,

       I bought one Iphone 4S from Best Buy #286 Canton, OH 44718. When I check with Best Buy salesman, they said it is unlocked Iphone 4S and could be used outside US. But when I back China, I found it was locked with AT&T, and could not be used without active Sim-card. I paid full price ($699+tax) for the 4S, but could not be used. I strongly suggest Best Buy verify if their employees have correct information about this kind of device, because I found I was not the only one to be told it was locked.

      I have no chance to visit US recently, Can I ask my friend in US to return the Iphone 4S and get refund for it? My customer service Pin is [removed per forum guidelines]. Please let me know what documents I need to prepare except complete machine with package, receipt. Can I return the 4S to any Best Buy store or only the one I bought from?

      I used credit card to pay it, will the money return to card? How long will it take? Thanks for your quick response!

Correction:

As long as it is within the 30 day return policy and your friend has a valid photo id, they can make the return for you to any US best buy. They will return the money to the credit card.
