Late Payment...Forwarding Order Problem

I recently purchased a TV from Best Buy and signed up for the 36 month interest free credit card.  I also recently moved into grandmother's vacated house.  All of her mail after her passing was being forwarded to my parents address.  My parents and I had spoken to the Post Office about removing the forwarding order, but even after speaking with them, mail was still getting sent to my parents address.  Even some mail was becoming lost or coming later than usual.  Tonight, I happened to be doing something and stumbled upon my last credit card statement that I had received from Best Buy and a lightbulb went off reminding me that my Best Buy bill was due soon or was late.  I typically know when all of my bills are due but had been really busy this past month and the thought slipped my mind.  I paid the bill tonight 12/09/09 and the bill was due 12/08/09.  Is there any possible way this can get resolved?  If nothing can be done, do I just get accessed a late fee for this one time late payment and lose my interest free for the remainder of the 3 year period?  I am never late on paying my bills, and even with this whole forwarding order mishap I haven't missed one yet until now, even with some bills getting lost in the mail and not receiving them until a month after they are due.  Is there any way this can be resolved?  Thanks for the help!

Hello msneezie31 -

First and foremost, I am sorry to hear for of your grandmother's passing. I can imagine how frustrating the mail forwarding situation can be!

 

Secondly, as far as your concern with your HSBC account, if you paid one day late, you more than likely will be assessed a late fee, however you generally have to miss 2 consecutive payments for your financing promotion to become void.  If you find that your financing was affected, feel free to contact me via private message and I can speak to HSBC on your behalf.
