I just tried to use a $25 itune card that I received as a gift from 2009, the card came back as cancelled. This is unacceptable, I also don't have the receipt as it was a gift. Why would you cancel a gift card, what is wrong with best buy.

iTunes gift cards expire after 2 years from date of activation. That is what Apple wants. And what Apple wants, it gets.

It would be great if your comment was true, but it hasn't been 2 years yet, and the card was cancelled, this issue doesn't have anything to do with apple, the issue is with best buy, who for some reason cancelled a valid itunes gift card for no reason.

Oh except my comment IS true.
Whether or not your gifter bought it <2 years or >2 years is for you to figure out, I was simply letting you know Apple's policy. Don't be so rude when someone tries to help you.

Hi mattberry,
I can understand the disappointed you must have received when you noticed that the iTunes gift card you received was accidently canceled.
At the moment Best Buy® does not understand why the gift cards were canceled, and we are working with our customers who have been affected, to provide a solution to this inconvenience. I understand that this was a gift, but is it possible for you to locate the receipt? I can even try to locate the receipt with the contact information of the gift giver. Feel free to provide the contact information by sending me a private message on my signature bar.
Thank you for your time,
