I ordered a digital picture frame online for my parents' anniversary (which is right after Christmas) and picked it up at a BB close to my work (not close to my home, however). I picked the item up today, and I could see from the box that it was the frame that I ordered.
When I got home and took the frame out of the bag, however, I noticed that there was an "Open Item" sticker on the front of the box.
Now, I didn't order a refurb item online. I paid for a brand new frame. I even double checked that when I got home. Of course, BB was more than happy to still charge my credit card for the full amount. Now I need to attempt to go to the store near my home, as I won't be able to get back to the store that I picked it up at before Christmas. I was by the online rep that this should be a problem, however, he also didn't seem to think there was an issue with the fact that they charged me for a new item and gave me a refurb.
I basically just wanted to warn people not just to check the item but to look at the packaging to be sure that they are walking out with what they paid for.
This is why I normally buy my electronics from the website that shares it's name with a certain rainforest. In the years that I've been buying things from them they have never scammed me out of anything.

Hi sptspat,
Thank you for taking your time to let us know of your unpleasant experience. I can understand the frustration of going back and forth to the stores all before Christmas. I can assure you that this is not Best Buy® practice, to purchase a product online, pick it up at the store and having it be open box when the customer already paid in full. I highly believe it was a human error and that sadly it only caused you more frustration on top of the Holiday stress. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
