Hello. Maybe I can get some help here before going to Twitter and Corporate.
I purchased a HP Laptop on 2/26. Before I purchased it, the nice young boy told me I had a 30 day return policy. I specifically asked about the return policy because I've had bad experiences with Laptops in the past. I was assured it was 30 days. After getting the laptop home, I noticed it freezing up while I was surfing the internet, as well as constantly freezing up and not shutting down, and getting stuck while updating. Needless to say I was not happy with my purchase, and chose to return it. I went to the store today, 3/15 to return it, and the sales clerk looked at my receipt and stated I was 3 DAYS PAST THE 14 DAY RETURN POLICY, and there was nothing she could do for me. I asked to speak to a manager, and Tom came and showed me the fine print on the back of my receipt that did indeed state a 14 day return policy. Again I asked to speak to HIS manager and a boy came out and stated that it was "his discretion whether or not to return my laptop", and that "he is choosing not to". I explained to him again that I was told I had 30 DAYS and that the laptop was actually sitting in the back of my car for the past week until I got a chance to get to the store, and that had I known I only had 14 days, I would have returned it earlier. Again, I am 3 DAYS OVER THE "SO CALLED" 14 DAY RETURN policy. I would totally agree if I was trying to return it 2 months after I bought it, but 3 DAYS? When I got home I called and spoke to someone on your 1-800# who contacted the stores general manager, and he agreed to give me a store credit for the laptop. I do not want a store credit as after all of this mess I am beyond afraid of what will go on in the future should I incur any more troubles. Bottom line is I want a full refund for my laptop. I am planning on taking my horrible experience to Twitter as well to my workplace. I work in an emergency department at a local hospital and see hundreds of people daily, and I will let everyone know just what kind of service I am receiving from Best Buy. I am sure the doctors and nurses I work with who spend a lot of money on electronics will be horrified with my story as well.
Any help you all can provide before I take this any further would be appreciated. Feel free to email me.

Not to sound snide, but what's the deal with calling grown men "boys"? I'm pretty sure you have to be an adult to work at Best Buy.
Anyways, I hope the moderators take pity on you.

Because I'm a 35 year old woman, and yes, having an 18 year old boy with acne who says he is the "manager" is unnacceptable as well as a bit disheartening. I know the country is in a bad state, but c'mon now.

That's interesting, Kristin. An 18 year old can pick up a rifle and kill/die for his county, but he cannot manage a retail store? As a fellow thirty something, I don't follow your logic.

I know that's why I go to the emergency room, to hear the nurses and doctors give me their opinions on retailers/politics and the like.
