I ordered a 32" flat screen TV on www.bestbuy.com on the day after Thanksgiving. This purchase was for a birthday present which was just recently...but I couldn't pass up the price then, so I purchased it in November. Now it is February and I have given this TV as a gift, only to find out that it is defective. I'm afraid that I may be beyond the date in which I can return this TV without any hassle. But I need to talk to someone so we can hopefully figure out some sort of way to return it. I just am looking to get a store credit or exchange it for a different TV. I have done nothing to this TV from the day I received it until the day I gifted it. It was stored in a dry, smoke free, pet free home...so there was no damage to it. So I just feel I received a defective TV from the manufacturer. Can someone at Best Buy please contact me so we can get the ball rolling on how to return or exchange this? I really don't want to waste anymore time sitting on a defective TV. What can I do? PLEASE HELP!

You won't be able to return it. You can either take it to Best Buy and have them repair it under the Manufacturer's Warranty, or you can contact the manufacturer directly and work directly with them on repair.

I'm glad I keep it real with customers when they buy electronics as gifts. It's ok to do that, but you MUST inspect the product immediately if the event for the gift is deep into the return policy.

Thanks for reaching out to us on this, and I’m sure it was disappointing to find out this TV is defective. I can also certainly understand you not being able to pass up a deal long in advance of the birthday it was intended for.
It is correct that after the holiday return or exchange period expired on 1/24/2012 we would no longer be able to return or exchange the TV. My best suggestion is to either contact the manufacturer, to arrange for repairs on the TV, or to have it sent off for repairs from your local Best Buy store.
With that said I would like to look further into this, and I am sending you a private message to gather some personal information. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
