Holiday Spirit?

Went to Best Buy store yesterday for some holiday gift shopping. The entire time I've been there they were playing some very loud hard rock music. Hard rock music will drive me up the wall on any given day but to play it during Christmass holidays was an absolute insult. I was going to buy 17 MP4 players and 50D Canon ($1500) camera. I could not bear to stay inside the store for very long. Best Buy lost the sale and I am not coming back (ever) to that store. That store manager has to be on drugs or something because he has no clue what he is doing. If you don't want to play Christmas music, then turn it off completely. No need to drive the customers away.

That store is located at Sunrise and Greenback in Sacramento, CA.

Re: Holiday Spirit?

It was intercom, of course. If it was the stereo department, I would have turned it off myself. It was playing somewhere up in the ceiling.

Re: Holiday Spirit?

Actually its in Citrus Heights, California.

I can vouch for the loud music. While audio demonstrations is nice, someone in the audio department needs a to limit the testing time on the audio to be courteous to the other customers shopping in the store. The loudest volume ive ever heard there was in the home theater isle where they have it setup carefully so it does not distract the other shoppers who may be shopping for other things other then audio solutions for the home.

Re: Holiday Spirit?

Well to each his own I suppose, I'm sure if you would have gone to the manager and asked him to turn it off/down because you weren't comfortable/like the music they would have gladly obliged.

Re: Holiday Spirit?

Hi vitic,

I had an experience just like that at a store this weekend, and you know what, I ended up leaving too. I was approached by a sales representative to see if I needed anything, and I told her that I needed the music to be turned down a bit. She went on her way, but I ended up leaving because my 3 year old seemed frustrated. Best Buy® understands that not all our customer have the same taste in music and I want to apologize if the music was playing to loud. I will forward your concern to the store. We are always looking for ways to make the environment at our store a pleasant one and if something like this ever comes up feel free to voice your concern to the staff working. We don’t want to drive customers away especially since the music intercoms volume can be adjusted for a more enjoyable experience.

Thank you for taking your time and posting your feedback in our forum,

Have a Merry Christmas,
