I just stopped at my local store in order to pre-order the two 3D Harry Potter releases coming out in a week, and after they looked into it for 10 minutes, they claimed it could only be done online. However, the weekly print ad clearly has the pre-order advertised with a footnote that states that the minimum deposit required is $5. If you check the website, pre-ordering requires you to pay full purchase price at the time the order is placed.

Could someone clear this up so I can process the pre-order in-store, as I should be able to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It seems like you should be able to just walk into your local store (or apparate there), focus on the $5 pre-orders, and state firmly, "Accio!" 

Seriously though, it appears an error was made somewhere between print and web. I hope one of the Community Connectors here can get it cleared up for you. FWIW, the online price I just saw looked pretty good and I would probably buy both if I had 3-D. Good luck.

You can try just ordering the 2 3D Harry Potter movies the morning of the release for in-store pick up.  This will guarantee that the movies will be there for you as long as you receive that the e-mail that your in-store pick up is ready for you.

We have checked with several stores, as well as looked in the print ad for your area and cannot find anything that states that there will be a pre-order available in store for this title. Typically, video games are available for pre-order in store, but movies and CDs can vary as to whether the pre-order will be in-store or just online.

So, in this case with the Harry Potter 3D releases, the preorders are only available online. That being said, I can understand how this whole situation has been confusing. I am going to send you a private message to see if there's anything further we can do to assist you. I will also be documenting this experience for our review.
