We bought this computer after doing a lot of research. I wanted a good computer that I could also hook up to our TV so that it is easier for my husband and I to surf the net together. The best buy website clearly states this computer has HDMI output. I even asked the salesguy at the store if we could hook this up to our tv, making sure to ask if it has HDMI output. He assured us it would be no problem.
Had the computer less than 2 months, bought HDMI cable so that we could hook it up. It does not work. The 1 and only HDMI port on this computer says "HDMI In". I contacted the best buy store where we bought the computer, the guy said we could bring it in, and there's probably something they can add to the computer to make it work....but of course it will cost me!
Called gateway....they said they could fix it over the phone....but of course it will cost me.
Just got off the phone with a member of the geek squad....again. Explained that it was their mistakes that have put me in this situation to begin with. The guy told me to buy a HDMI to VGA splitter and it should work fine. I'm not super intelligent with what you call all these cords, so I get off the phone and get online to look for it. Now I know what a VGA is.....and why in the world would a VGA anything work.....this computer is an ALL IN ONE.....it does not have a VGA hookup anywhere!!!
How can gateway do it over the phone and bestbuy says they have to add parts??? I don't understand and am very frustrated. It was bestbuy's website that says it has an HDMI output, and their salesman that said of course it does! So why am I going to have to pay to have someone do something???
Is there any way for me to fix this problem? Any way for me to connect this computer to our TV???? Some one please help!!!

I am having the very same problem and I am very unhappy. I thoroughly explained that I wanted to be able to use this computer to watch movies with the TV I planned to buy in 4-6 weeks. The salesman said I would be able to hook it up to my TV and watch movies. I just went and bought my TV, also from BB, and guess what...I have been behind the TV and on the floor for almost 3 hours now to no avail.
Someone please tell me if this is possible. Otherwise, BB is about to get back not only this computer but also the Samsung 3D 46" TV I just bought yesterday.

Not possible, the VGA/HDMI splitter as suggested by Geek Squat will make your TV looks horrible.
