Called for TV repair to my house. Tech showed up about December 15th. Said he'd need to order a part and left.
No word from tech, Geek Squad or other.
I called mid January and tried to find out the status. The GS phone person basically said that the part was on order and gave me a work order number. The number still does not work at the GS site.
At the beginning of Feb still no word, no invoice, and no follow up from GS.
I called and had a very unpleasant conversation with the GS 888# folks. To say I was ticked off wouldn't begin to describe it. Basically the part was never ordered properly, the tech was unavailable, and they'd try to have someone call.
The next Monday no call, and no call all week.
Finally contacted Jason {personal information removed per community guidelines} whom I'd met via Twitter.
He directed me to the GS service center this past week. After speaking to someone on Feb 9th, they guaranteed the part had been delivered on Feb 6th and scheduled my install for this Saturday, Feb 14th, between noon and 4. Someone was supposed to call Friday and confirm.
The confirmation call never came. A tech had called this morning and said he'd be out between 3 and 5 today. At noon he calls back and says he doesn't actually have the part. Another tech has the part.
He calls back and hour later and says his manager will meet him with the part at our house at 3.
Phone rings at 3, it's the original tech, whom we were promised would not come out, telling me he's likely to be out in an hour or so but is in a different state. I ask him to give the part to the correct tech and have his boss call.
Here it is an hour later, no tech, no part, no call. I'm beyond unhappy.
I'll be reporting this to the BBB and also calling someone for help in getting a refund and recompense for the hours lost chasing this down.
