Exchanging laptop

Hello, I recently purchased an HP Pavilion dv6-6c35dx laptop and the screen started flickering about 5 days after purchase. I have reason to believe this is due to faulty hardware associated with the model. My question is if I can go exchange my new laptop for a non defective one?

Re: Exchanging laptop

As long as you are within the return policy of the laptop, so as long as you purchased it on or after 3/4, you have a 30 day return policy and if purchased before then, you only had a 14 day return policy. As long as you are within these guidelines you can go make an exchange as long as the product is deemed in like new condition and just defective and you have the receipt, a valid ID and all the things that came with it.

Re: Exchanging laptop

I've purchased this Laptop on the 13th so I'm well within the return policy.

The only problem I see for the exchange is recreating the problem in front of Best Buy employees. It is a prevalent problem among the HP Pavilion dv6 model and it usually happens sporadically but when it does it's almost scary. My screen will begin to flicker in the top right corner and gradually move to the rest of the screen.

Re: Exchanging laptop

Eh you can return it without a reason. I would definitely tell them it is defective but if they give you trouble about the defect part, just say you want to return it anyways/exchange.

Re: Exchanging laptop

You are not required to demonstrate anything. In order to return your new Laptop for a full refund.

I would recommend that you keep it simple when you return it. Just say that you are returning it because you don't like the way that it works. Don't offer a long story, which could only serve to complicate matters.

Whatever you do. Don't permit them to suck you into trying to repair the Laptop. You are entitled to a full refund, or exchange, the choice is yours to make.

Good Luck

Re: Exchanging laptop

Rolls eyes. As I said, they can return it for any reason but not telling them it is defective is idiotic as it would then get resold if they don't catch the intermittent defect.

Just for the record. I typed and submitted my post before your "you can return it without a reason" reply became visible on my board.

"Rolls eyes"

I very strongly recommend that you tone down your argumentative attitude.

Re: Exchanging laptop

Thats cool. My eye roll remains :smileywink: I strongly recommend that you not tell someone to do something that could potentially hurt another customer who might buy the item and get a defective one because they didn't mention it and since it was intermittent, it gets skipped over. My comment was in reference to your post and doesn't make any difference if you saw my post or not.

Selective memory? Anyways, I won't stoop to your patheticly low(not to mention  against TOS) level so you have a nice day and to the op, I hope your exchange goes smoothly and you get a working laptop!
