I recently purchased (6 days ago) a new Macbook. To my surprise a new macbook was released this week for a lower price a significant amount of new hardware etc. I am really disappointed because I asked one of the employees if a new macbook was going to come out since I heard rumors about it and they said no not for another couple of months. My issue is that I paid more money for something that has less things. I know Apple stores offer a no questions asked upgrade to the new product if something is released within 14 days of purchase. You guys want to charge me a restocking fee of 15%. I just want store credit to be able to get the new macbook. Please let me know what I can do to make this happen. Also if for some reason this is not possible then price guarantee would take effect right? Apple is selling the old models for 300 dollars less than before which means you guys would have to give me 300 dollars. Correct? I just feel ripped off and I have been saving money for a very long time to get this computer. Thanks for all your help.

Does anyone know when Best Buy will begin selling the new Macbooks? I was in a store today and the rep had no idea what I was talking about until we went to the apple website. As of now, Best Buy is only selling the "older" versions. Thanks!

Quick question...Does doing a price match void the return policy? Technically I have until Tuesday to return the computer but if I were to do a price match tomorrow would that change anything???

No, a PM doesn't affect the R/E period.

So I am going to get a PM before I return the computer...I will end up with 20 bucks in my pocket once I buy the new macbook compared to not getting a PM and returning it which will cost me 120 bucks to upgrade to the new one. One last question...Before returning my laptop should I insert the DVD it came with to restore it to factory settings? Also is there an ETA for the new Macbook Pros? Thanks

They gave me the 300 bucks with no problem when I went to price match. Now I just need to return it once I get my data off of it. When is the new one coming out?

You don't have to worry about your data. A factory restore is performed before it's resold.

I spoke with an Apple rep and a Best Buy rep today. They said all of the new Macbooks will be in stores by Saturday.

Excellent. Glad to see they've finally got a date for us! They must've just released that, because last night there was still no ETA.
