If I were to log into my account and discover an unexpected $800 charge on my account, I’d be quite upset as well. I am sorry to read that this has happened to you and that the financing promotion you received may not have been explained to you.

With any of our deferred interest financing offers on the Reward Zone credit card, in order for the interest to remain free for the purchase, the minimum monthly payments must be paid, and the full balance of the purchase needs to be paid off by the end of the financing term. These terms would have been provided several ways, including being printed on the purchase receipt of the item being financed and on each billing statement sent by HSBC.

Unfortunately, as the accounts are held through HSBC, we do not have access to or influence over the accounts to determine why the deferred interest was charged, or if any options are available for this. I have however forwarded your concerns regarding the account to HSBC to review your account further.
