Defender of Best Buy

Just wanted to drop by (this is my first post), and let you guys know I've been a long-time defender of Best Buy.  There are so many negative comments on the internet, and in the Associated Press about Best Buy -- but I've always been there to defend you.  Until today.

I went into Best Buy to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 4s -- I patiently waited in line, while the only two Blue Shirts helped two other customers.  I waited, and waited, and waited.  FINALLY, one of the Blue Shirts asked if I had a question.  I said I was ready to purchase a phone, and was promptly told they were completely sold out.

This irritated me -- why did I wait in line so long?  Why didn't someone tell me this BEFORE I waited in line so long?  Why wasn't there a sign on the iPhone 4s display that said you were sold out?

So, I went to the mall (less than a mile away), and received AMAZING SERVICE from the Apple Store -- I mean, really NIGHT and DAY difference in service from my Best Buy experience.

Anyway -- again, I just wanted to drop by, and let you know I'm NO LONGER A DEFENDER OF BEST BUY.

Re: Defender of Best Buy

Forgot to mention the Blue Shirt ROLLED HIS EYES at me, when I asked him why I waited in line so long.

Re: Defender of Best Buy

Hello Guy,

It saddened me to read that after your long time support of our company, that your recent experience with one of our stores had been so upsetting to you that you have decided no longer to defend our company. I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the long wait that you had to get assistance only to discover that the iPhone 4S was out of stock at the location you had visited.

When you visit our stores, our sales associates should be checking in with you occasionally to verify if you need any assistance or have any questions. If the representatives in the Best Buy Mobile area were assisting customers, they should at least acknowledge that someone would be with you soon, and if they can, possibly answer any quick questions you may have. I wasn’t certain from your post however if any of this was done, or if the representatives were aware of what you were waiting to purchase prior to you waiting so long for assistance. If they had known, you were interested in purchasing the iPhone 4S they certainly should have informed you that they were currently sold out, and in a more professional way than you state the associate did. I apologize for the disappointment that this caused.

I would like to ensure the management of this store is made aware of your experience so that they may be able to address this with their team as necessary. If you could please let me know which location you had visited, it would be greatly appreciated. You are welcome to provide this and any other details to me here on the forum, or via private message using the link in my signature below.

Sincerely,

Melissa|Senior Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate
